I am posting this as a heads-up, but I am sorry I don't have more details. [Mods: If this needs to be in the finance section, please move it, but I placed it here for more exposure.]

I received the attached letter from Datapak Services Corporation (via AllClear) who state the my customer information (credit card, address, etc) may have been compromised. I thought I would post this here since we all shop at a lot of the same sites.
[Update---see posts below for WBShop.com info]
I am not going to list all the sites that I have shopped at, but from my past posts you will find Rakuten, Newegg, Amazon, and others quite often. The letter does not state the client company's name.

I don't know about Newegg, I would suspect that Amazon does all of their processing in-house.

In my own speculation, Rakuten is at the top of my because the time frame seems to work out. See this thread:

http://slickdeals.net/f/6018544-rakuten-buy-com-customers-getting-fraudulent-credit-card-charges?

Newegg was talked about here:http://slickdeals.net/f/6268674-newegg-account-compromised-beware-of-potential-security-breach

Datapak Services offered me one years' worth of credit monitoring from AllClear PRO. Again, they are keeping the ID of their client private. Since I can use different information at different sites, I am not sure what, if any, of my information was exposed.

[Personal information has been deleted from the letters.]

I also got this card and shopped at WB Shop, lucky for me the card I used expired about 4 days after my purchase. I still double checked and nothing showed up that I didn't buy.

damn I shopped the fringe wb shop sale too. $14.99 deal I guess the wb got the better of me. I wish more info was given. Don't feel good about giving more of my personal info to the I'd monitor company. Will call credit card companies for replacement cards

Received the same letter, stating malware was placed on their system March 5th... I used my card at wb.com, but I never created an account so I don't think my info was kept in their system...

I've never seen any charges and my bank issues a new cards once a year so the number they have are no good now.
never bought from Rakutan, so it wasn't them, for me at least.

I did not create an account either. Guess what, they kept all your info including payment info. How do I know...I had a ups fail to deliver. I called about replacement product and they had all my info on file.

My wife got this letter today. She did make a purchase on WBShop.com a while back. About a month ago she noticed a small charge to Nordstrom even though she never shopped there, on the same card used at WBShop.com. Discover removed the charge and sent her a new card. No clue if it is related, but posting just in case.

Since the FTC's ID Theft information is not available at their website http://www.onguardonline.gov/phishing due to the Govenment Shutodwn (TM), I though I would post some good information from Merrill Lynch on related topics:

Phishing: http://www.ml.com/privacy_securit..._2_2_1.asp

Identity Theft and Fraud:

And finally, tips for protecting yourself:

I got the same letter today. My card actually got stolen TWICE, each time within a month or so of a WBshop.com order.

I ordered The Hobbit 3D Bluray back in March and my card was used fraudulently about a week later. Chase caught it pretty quickly and I got it replaced with a new number. I also ordered something off of Rakuten about the same time so I just assumed it was that until it got stolen again.

I later ordered the $14.99 Fringe Bluray deal in June, and a Warner archive DVD in July on WBshop.com with the new card. By the end of August I had more fraudulent charges that Chase caught, but didn't tell me about. Chase finally froze my card in September when I tried to order an iPhone 5S from Best Buy (which really screwed up my upgrade, but that's another story).

Now I can't say for certain that it was WBshop since I use this card a lot, but the timing is suspicious. I pretty much use Paypal for everything online except Amazon and Newegg. I hadn't made an order on WBshop for years until March, and never had my card stolen before. Now its been stolen twice since that order.

I received the Datapak letter today and read it carefully. I've never heard of ALL Clear ID so knew I needed to do some checking.

I used a "secure card" (good only for one merchant) on the WBShop site in late March. I don't know if the issuer will tell me if there have been any attempts to use the number elsewhere.

A few years back I got a similar letter with a BIG notable difference; the vender was identified in the letter by name not just the date(s), along with multiple statements that the vender was not at fault the credit card processor was the one who had been breached. They provided a similar protection offer from TransUnion at no cost for one year. All the same, I never purchased from that vender again.

So if WB is the only merchant - they may be trying to protect their rep, but then again it may be Datapak trying to protect theirs if multiple sites were compromised.

Would love to know when they became aware of the breach of their security.

That's probably where this came from:

"A Transaction of $642.08 at NORWEGIAN TICKETLESS WEB was declined on or around 07/12/2013 inFornebu, Norway."

I got a letter from Datapak with the same March 5th malware date as well. The thing is I didn't make a purchase from the wbshop.com until August 8th during the Gremlins/Goonies sale. My debit card I used on the wbshop had fraudulent activity the next month on September 16th even though I used guest checkout I believe. It was an international charge from PITT MEADOWS, wherever that is, my banking institution refunded my money a few days later. Even though the money was removed from my account when I called to report it they said that the charge was denied. I think the wbshop is likely the source, but I also purchased from tanga.com and woot.com in the same time period with my debit card as well. Anybody else purchase from tanga or woot?

AllClearID is a legit company, I actually signed up with them a couple years ago when Sony's online PS3 network was breached and they gave everybody a redemption code.

I also think there should be class action lawsuit considering how many people seem to be effected without any form of notice being given to customers. Any lawyers here willing for the challenge?

LIVING SOCIAL. BREACHED in Spring 2013.

sent notice of breached accounts by email, 4/26/2013. Claimed no cc# were breached just personal info. Everyone was asked to change log in password. I deleted cc, also. Used amex on 3/4/13 at living social. Same amex used at wbshop, 6/27/13

Could be a point of cc breach, also. Add it to the list.

I got a fraudulent charge to my discover card as well and I used it for wbshop for the fringe set also. I believe wbshop is the culprit after reading so many people with same story.

I don't recall purchasing via any of these. A quick email search shows no orders.

Hey !... so it was WBShop.com !! I got the letter yesterday...

Here's my story: I purchased a Bluray on July, then last August my Amex card was used illegally by different online merchants around the world to execute around 20+ transactions totaling over $5000 in the span of 2 hours... I received an alert from Amex on my mobile and we went through the process of clearing my account and cancelling the card.

Out of those $5K, $1.5 actually went through and I was issued immediate counter credit... funny thing is that I actually ended up receiving some of the stuff that was purchased!!... I reported everything to the police and returned the items ASAP.... laugh out loud
