deal appears to be dead.

If you live in NYC area, choose nycewheels as the seller, as per their Amazon page: http://www.amazon.com/shops/nycewheels

Quote :
NYCeWheels is the only Electric bike and Folding bike retailer that does a full tune-up and repack for your bicycle. Our Mechnics have 12+ years experiance working with those bikes. The Warranty is fully enabled and shipping damage virtually eliminated with our VIP service.
That should take care of the lifetime warranty upgrade and warranty repairs for those in the NYC area.

http://dahon.com/mainnav/dahon-su...ranty.html

For "Lifetime Warranty Upgrade", The warranty is activated when the bicycle is tuned and adjusted by a professional mechanic before the owner's first ride.

After you received the bike from Amazon, still need to go to bike shop and pay the local professional mechanic to tune the bike if want lifetime warranty.

Making a Warranty Claim

You must at your own expense, deliver, mail or ship the damaged part, a photo of the defective part, and a description of the defect, together with both the original bill of sale and this Limited Warranty statement as proof of purchase. A warranty registration card must be completed and received by us before a warranty claim can be processed. The retailer from whom you bought your bicycle will contact us to determine if the necessary repairs are covered by the warranty.

There are many things you should be wary of when buying a bike off the Internet.

You need to make sure that the bike is correctly assembled before you ride it or you risk injury to yourself or damage to the bicycle. This is a simple bicycle that does not require much assembly but there are certain areas that are important to check:
  • Crank Bolts
  • Wheel Nuts
  • Pedals
  • Handlebar and Stem
  • Seat
  • General knowledge of folding procedure.

This is a good price - the same as the lightning deal around black friday 2012, and the cheapest it's been since then.

Yep. I missed that one and waited all this time for it to drop back down. It's actually 99 cents cheaper! LOL.

That would depend on your campus if they let you bring it in. Its a bit tricky locking it because there isn't a triangle frame accept near the rear wheel and you would have to use a cable with the seat or take the seat out and carry it in your backpack or something cause it comes off, someone can just steal the seat for the heck of it.Stick Out Tongue If you don't fold it when locking hopefully no one tries to play with the folding and mistakenly break the safety pin.

You can get a lock for the seat

Hmmm I've been waiting for this deal, but I've been spending $ lately so not sure now. Just bought the tickets for me and GF for the Paris trip ($380pp) yesterday and pre-ordered the PS4 (another SD). But I've been wanting a bike that can be folded and just thrown in my small trunk.

I wonder if this is a permanent price drop? How is this one compared to the Dahon Boardwalk?

I would bring it inside, it folds well, Here is a video that I found while researching this model:

This is good for relatively flat terrains as this is a one-speed. So you can get quite a workout going up hills. It's like a foldable BMX bike.

This is meant to be relatively portable and packable, stow into car trunk, coat closet, suitcase, carry into the trains etc. etc. Gonna be using as part of my commute.

Saw this as part of an Amazon review on this bike, maybe it answers your question?

"5. Constant peddling. Smaller bike/tires, man. I miss being able to do four big peddles and cruising the rest of the block or two on my mountain bike. Not on this bike, you're constantly peddling to maintain your speed. Do four big peddles and you're come to a complete stop in a minute. God bless you if you can ride long distances on this thing."
