I thought this should go in the Wiki, from the OP:

"Comcast screwed up our order big time. They activated the service and billed us the day I called for a house that is in construction not in our possession when we had appointment scheduled for 31st. In top of that the HD technology fee showed up so I chatted and opened a ticket for the HD fee to be removed as agreed (I didn't know at this time they already activated the service) and a lady from Executive Customer Relations Department emailed me an aknolegment about the ticket and we were able to sort thinks out with her via email and phone but after my wife called CSR yesterday multiple times about service being already activated and all CSRs were idiots.

We took someones advice here annd the lady at Executive Customer Relations Department switched us to Performance Internet+ Digital preferred+1 HD Receiver for $80 first year $20 more second - no contract, installation waived. Not the greatest deal but decent.

We'll see what other surprises we get from Crapcast.

You need a full time job just to deal with these idiots."

After 1 year regular price of $79.99/month. This is with no contract. Comcast eliminated contracts at least in my area, I didn't see any offers with contract. Even at $80 per month it is a good price if you don't watch a lot of TV. Some people pay just for internet this rate.

It is a contract. Dont be fooled. They'll lie to make the sale if they have to.

That's why any phone conversation with Comcast should be followed by an email from them with the agreement. Verbal offers cannot be verified.

HD for only 1 TV?? Why is it even an option? Shouldn't ALL broadcasts be in HD?

How many non-HD tv's can you buy nowadays??

people need to stop posting deals on comcast based on their local promotion.
you can't duplicate it if you live outside of that area and they wont pm it.

Likely means they provide you with one box. If you want more, you'd need to rent them.

That's true. I don't understand why they advertise packages and # of channels but HD is not included in price or out of 100 channels only 40 are HD. Every house these days has HDTVs, Why offer non HD prices and channels?

Bought this deal today before I saw this. it'll go nicely with my HDHomerunPrime I bought today. I was able to upgrade the one free box to an HD DVR for free. it wanted to charge me 9.99 per month to upgrade to just an HD box.

Comcast reps are the worst. Call at least THREE times to confirm that they gave you what the promised in the first call.

THEY LIE LIE LIE to their teeth
