I know these were on sale for $10 less earlier this year, but this is about as low as these typically go.

Almost unarguably the absolute best value for speaker you can buy. I'm currently sitting on deals building a 5.0 setup so I was excited to see this drop so soon again. Pretty sure this was in response to Best Buy dropping it to the same price. But at Amazon no tax =]

Not gonna miss out on another pair of these just because I want them for $10 less. In for a pair. Now I just need the towers to go on sale again...

Unless someone beats me to it, I'll be posting that deal too. I'm also on the lookout for the Bic 12" sub to either stay where It's at or drop a little lower.

i guess i am shallow, but these are not good looking at all. Seems like they gets great reviews and would be a great choice if you refuse to spend more than $100. Personally id get something with a 5-6" woofer in a stereo/2.1 setup. Would work nice for surrounds though.

Better alternative - JBL LSR 305 and those are active monitors. Musicians friend has them for $150 each. Little more price, but that waveguide is modeled after M2 monitor, has wide dispersion and is in its own class.

In for another pair! Love these things. They image better than anything under $1,000 that I'm aware of. Almost a shame to use for home theater (as I am).

What's up with people who recommend something that performs "better" for 3.5x the price? Clearly you're not getting the concept here.

Also, while powered monitors might be a more convenient option for a 2.0 desktop setup - they're really not the way to go for a 5.1 setup, or even a 2.1 setup, for anyone who is likely to be looking for advice in this forum.

You're not shallow at all. Aesthetics are important in many cases, but for me right now, I'm all after the best sound I can get for a small budget.

I think in general, the big draw for these is A, the budget conscious who wants a 2.1 setup. Or, like me, using these in a 5.1 setup for surrounds for my HT with the matching center and floor speakers, as to match timbre, etc. (I'm guessing this group is larger).

Aesthetically, they may not be pretty but they don't stick out either. They could have some nasty silver plastic surrounds or something. All they really need is a Harbeth logo Smilie
