Just came back from HD. Searched for this at SD and could not find a post for these dimmable LED light bulbs.

The 40W equivalent Cree which was 9.97 is now 6.97 and the 60W equivalent which was $12.97 is now $9.97. This is in Northern CA. Did not say the lower price is because of the utility (PG&E). I think it is a price drop.

Online, the 40W eq shows lower price. Have been using both these bulbs for a couple of months and they are great.

I also found a 4 pack, 40W equivalent Ecosmart LED (made by Lighting Science) for 19.97. This seems new to HD.

I was able to change out the candelabra socket and replace with type B socket I salvaged from a broken fixture. Not worth the trouble though, easier to just change out the fixture, maybe get one with LED already
The problem one may find is some new CFL and LED light fixture use the government ill-mandated GU24 socket base. To which one may consider later modifying to standard medium socket base if and when the bulb fails. shake head

On eBay you can find a few socket adapters from GU24 to standard socket E26, shipping from China or Asia for about $2-4 each It's just a physical adapter, so doesn't bypass the CFL ballast in the fixture or housing - some LED bulbs work and some don't, depending on the electronics driver in the bulb.

The adapters add about an inch of length, so should factor in with differing lengths of LED A19 or R30 or other bulb shapes.

I'm aware of those adapters and I admit I haven't checked on their prices since last year as I have little reason to anymore. They were over double the amount in the past than now or I would had used them instead of buying from Lowe's and converting dozens of $2 sockets in rentals which still ended up being over 1/3 cheaper than replacing the fixtures. There weren't anywhere as many sellers then either. Thanks, good to know though.

They aren't very bright to begin with.

Got a few - 60W at $9.97. The price on the shelf was 12.97, but was 9.97 when they rang it up.

Thanks to the OP.

BTW, I did pick up a few of the 9.5W (60W) Cree's in this slickdeal, and unforunately this is one of those bulbs that does not work at all with these socket adapters. However, no damage to the bulbs to try, I'm using the bulbs in other fixtures designed for incandescent.

Bothell isn't covered by Seattle City Light. I've been checking for quite some time for a subsity. The signs at my local HD say they are on sale and there is no 14 item limit. I know the prices vary by location that's why I listed the location so others in the area could go to this store if their's has higher prices.

No Cree luck in San Diego, check couples of HD.

But I found Feit 40 Watt Replacement use 7.5 Wats 500 lumens, 3000K LED
at Costco for 3each Pack $19.95 - SDGE instance rebate $6 = $14

One correction on my part, the parts I actually purchased were GX24 to E26 adapters. However, it does seem like GU24 adapters are also available.

I believe unlike GX24, GU24 is just a physical socket as the CFL ballast will part of the GU24 bulb, hence any E26 LED bulb should work. It is only with the GX24 adapters that the integrated ballast in the socket might not work with some LED circuitry (including the bulb in this deal doesn't play nice).
