Linux Hosting---CloudatCost launch offer - Buy your own Cloud Server for $35 ONE TIME COST (Other plans avaiable) 1CPU, 512MB RAM, 10GB storage 500gb network usage, 1 IP
If you are willing to take a chance on a start-up company; for the next 7000 or so virtual Linux servers created, CloudAtCost is allowing the charter members of their hosting service to set up a Linux "cloud-based" server for a one-time fee as low as $35 (they will take Paypal).
For the $35 server, you get a CentOS, Debian, or Ubuntu server with:
1 Xeon vCPU, 1 Public IP, 512MB RAM, 10GB SSD, 100Mbit Internet with 500GB of monthly transfer. They do have pay-by-the year plans. Also, they have two other packages that basically double, then double again these specs. (for $70 and $140 one-time cost.) They have even bigger discounts if you buy 10 pack or more "servers." They provide vlan support between then, thus I assume you could do load balancing and clustering.

Request please - can one you Linux gurus, please add to some help on this wiki - how to setup a wordpress serving site. I can navigate Linux around cmd line, but thats it, and would like to have some help on getting this VPS to multiple wordpress hosting ready site - with a free version of CPANEL, (and delete this comment, when done). A script to pull stuff down and install would be even great.
freeserver.us offer WordPress VPS, ready to go. you can find coupon @freeserverus and get it for $2.99/yr or $7.79/3-yr
I am using the setup below and it beats CPANEL setup big time:
- tuxlite (easy install of MYSQL PHP APACHE/NGINX and a lot more goodies) - download at tuxlite.com
- webmin for managing everything, best web based GUI for LINUX admins.
I used to love Cpanel, and the setup above helped me make a smooth transition from cpanel. Hope this helps.
These may not be SSD, but hard drives as a few weeks ago, they were all hard drives:

I have a developer2 and am running Ununtu 12.04 using free-nx with unity2d. Pretty good so far. Install took about 3Gb (went from 1.4Gb used to 4.3Gb used).
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop gnome
# choose gdm if prompted
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:freenx-team
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install freenx
sudo /usr/lib/nx/nxsetup --install
tar -xvf nxsetup.tar.gz
Copy the setup script to /usr/lib/nx:
sudo cp nxsetup /usr/lib/nx/nxsetup
# sudo vim /etc/nxserver/node.conf
# uncomment COMMAND_START_GNOME='gnome-session --session ubuntu-2d'
# uncomment/modify DISPLAY_BASE=1001
sudo /etc/init.d/freenx-server restart
Then connected from win7 using Nomachine NX Client. Works good. You might not need to changethe DISPLAY_BASE but it wont hurt.
