  • "That's a smoking price for TUMI. That stuff is super expensive even at outlet stores. They do stand by their product, so if its ever damaged you can get it replaced for free." - gdmaddog

these are Tumi "T-tech" they are like the cheap version of Tumi. The one you have for 15 years are most likely the good stuff. Wink
Thanks for the tip. I've decided not to go with the T-tech luggage.

22 inch is not that big for a carry on these days...maybe that is why they are on clearance..
I fly multiple times a month, Southwest is one of the few that allow carry-ons larger than 22". They allow up to 24". But for those that don't know better, the 24" INCLUDES the length of the wheels. When you buy luggage and it says 22" it usually does not include the length of the wheels. When you do include them, they're usually around the 24" that Southwest allows.

Based on that, you're incorrect, 22" is pretty much the biggest you can carry-on, unless they don't realize your luggage is bigger.

Yes but there are limitations on how much you can claim.. it might not even make up for the cost of the luggage

maybe it vary by airline, i flew with Singapore airline and Cathay pacific for international.

few years ago my Samsonite luggage was bust open by the luggage crew and i was able to claim back $1500 in damage. Luggages + the items inside, ( you listed the item and make up the number of course)

Internationally and even domestically, airlines are not in sync about maximum carry on size. That said, 22" is the largest I would buy anymore. The number of them that will accept 24" is dwindling fast.

I am worried that expensive luggage like this gets stolen in transit.. can anyone confirm if luggage can be stolen in transit traveling internationally via commercial airplane
yes it probably will.
i spent 500 for my carry on, but way less for my check in. i invested a lot on my carryon because i know it will be safe with me always. this is a great deal if you don't have a nice carry on luggage bag.

I just ordered a blue 32 inch one for $229 from Amazon - 2 day prime shipping no tax. Red is same price. Must be matching Walmart. Polycarbonate spinners are awesome lightweight suitcases.

are the red suitcases different colors? the 2 smaller ones look different than the extended trip (largest) one... would hate to get all 3 for the Mrs and they are not matching

Umm it is largest allowed 9x14x22 any larger and you are an asshole taking up valuable overhead and hopefully one day the airlines will be strict on checking sizes.
You're in luck, because United has been rolling out carryon sizers at many airports and they've been enforcing the limit more and more lately.

Didn't realize Walmart sell Tumi. Theft with a carry-on? Why worry? It usually near you. I fly with my Tumi carry-on. For checked luggage, it my tjmaxx London Fog
