Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great sorrow that I must inform you all that the MicrosoftStore prices have changed to MSRP. This day, though dreaded, was inevitable. This incredible and perhaps once in a lifetime PM deal is "DEAD" for now. I shall remain vigilant, for the prices may change again, and on that day the PM frenzy will rise once more! Congratulations to all SDers who scored and welcome to the "Astro A40 - $40 Club!" Place the title in your signature with pride! woot

FOLKS, IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY PM WITH BEST BUY, PLEASE DO NOT COMPLAIN ON PUBLIC FORUMS AND SOCIAL MEDIA (FACEBOOK / TWITTER)!

https://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Bes...64#U801864

I personally do not know how I feel about publicly complaining on social media about this PM. You all have to realize that Best Buy is not required, nor obligated to PM this deal as the item is OOS. I have a bad feeling that publicly drawing attention to this PM will make it significantly harder for others to avail of this PM as demand will increase significantly. Also, I can definitely see Best Buy removing the "Low Price Guarantee" on the Astro A40 as a result and/or correcting the item model number listed on the Best Buy website, as the Astro A40s on MicrosoftStore are the pre-2013 edition, thus negating the PM and subsequently ending this PM.

ATTENTION: TO ALL WHO WERE ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY PM WITH BEST BUY, PLEASE COMPLETE THE BEST BUY SURVEYS ON THE RECEIPT AND GIVE POSITIVE SCORES AND FEEDBACK! It would be the right thing to do for such an amazing deal! woot

UPDATE: Folks, from the replies of the brave men and women who mustered up their SD courage to attempt this PM, some are still reporting success at various locations throughout the country. To help each other succeed in scoring on this insane deal, PLEASE include HOW and WHERE you were able to achieve final Astro A40 victory. This will help others attempt other strategies as well as save time, effort, money and gas on these more challenging Best Buy locations. Also, while a limited few (including myself) have had success in attaining a PM from Best Buy online and/or phone orders, please leave this as a LAST RESORT. The best reports of success are from PM attempts at the store level FIRST. Some have reported various in-store and corporate related memos and internal messages, so be fore-warned that success may only be possible at locations who either have not received the memo/message, are not aware or do not follow company policy.

Also, please note that details on these memos/messages are not clear. Some have reported that it is a ban on PM'ing MicrosoftStore while others report a ban on PM'ing the Astro A40s. If the latter is the case, TRY THE INSANE PRICE MATCH ON THE OTHER HEADSETS! I was able to score on Turtle Beach Phantoms that retail for $299.99 for approximately $65 each! The TB Phantom and TB Spectre however are limited edition headsets and may no longer be available at all locations, while the Razer Carcharias and Razer Electra are normal stock. Thus, make the most of your attempt at Best Buy. If they are not willing to PM the Astros, give the TB and Razer products a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, if this insane of a PM works for you, PLEASE thumbs up the deal and hook it up with a rep. It would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes and happy PM hunting.

Alright so the PM frenzy at Best Buy that happened last week may be back! Many on SD including myself have had success with Best Buy price-matching MicrosoftStore despite showing OOS online, but this is EXTREMLY YMMV! I was able to have [2] Astro A40s PM'ed at Best Buy for $65.81 each, as well as [2] Turtle Beach Call of Duty Ghosts Ear Force Phantoms ordered at the store for home delivery (as the item was OOS in-store) for $86.59 total AFTER $85 in reward certificates. So $171.59 for [2] headsets that retail for $299.99 each!

To make the deal even sweeter this time around, it looks like MicrosoftStore has removed the original price from $249.99 (which ended the last PM) down to $49.36! So those who were successful last time around may even be able to get a refund on the difference in the last price ($65.81 - $49.36 = $16.45) as we are still within the return policy/price match guarantee period!

Please take into consideration that PM success is multi-factorial. Price matching may depend on individual store location policies, sales representative willingness, ability to PM without manager authorization, etc. Both the Astro A40 and TB Phantoms did not require manager approval/authorization at the POS. If attempting a PM, I recommend the following:

- Be courteous and respectful!
- Show proof from MicrosoftStore (I do not recommend the Javascript work around as this constitutes fraud)!
- Show previous PM purchase!
- If successful, ALWAYS say THANK YOU and give a positive online store review shown on receipt (This is super important to Best Buy management)!
- If unsuccessful, be GRACEFUL in defeat! Smilie

GOOD LUCK!

Nice haul!

Will not even try this in my Austin store due to my past experience.
They always try to shoot me down with anything even outright lies.

^same with the BestBuy I go to close to Seattle, WA. They don't care how long they have to wait on the phone calling B&M, and good luck even getting them to call to validate when the site shows OOS.

Good haul for getting this to PM as this is a ridiculously good deal for the A40's, especially with the mixamp!

Yet you find another price drop holy shit!!!! I will try one last time, I think they are beginning to catch on to this lmfao.. Such a big drop, I think you with the silver rewards member or something may only pull this off haha..

Just a heads up for new people, this price match has a high failure rate. Proceed with caution.

I also posted in the original thread in deal talk, but I managed to get this to work last night. I happened to check the site yesterday afternoon just to see if the price had changed, and sure enough it was even lower.

First BB shot me down out of the gate, but the second one had no problem price matching it. The general manager even came over and approved it no problem. Receipt attached.

One of the local best buys said a mass email was sent out. I was trying to get a price adjust. Oh well $90 for that headset is still an awesome deal.
