I hate the new forum layout

The old version was much much better. Reading through the list of thread titles is more of a headache when cluttering information like thread start date and category is right below it. That stuff used to be pushed off to the side so it didn't interfer, and allowed for 1 line titles. Now the spacing is larger with the extra text and it all just looks a mess. It's more eyeball work to sort through it all, wasting time.
Sigh, constant change is not improvement when you have something that works well...

4/24 update: thumbnail toggle is here
Firefox/Chrome work around to remove thumbnails/popular & trending deals
I wanted to come in here and say that I know that this test has been rocky - historically in the past we've been able to make quick changes based on community feedback but the test has limited what we could change.
That being said, I'm putting together some recommendations about how to improve the test process. Furthermore - I'm actively considering reverting and starting over with smaller changes and making the process a lot more iterative. |

Firefox/Chrome work around to remove thumbnails/popular & trending deals
Okay, if anyone wants to remove the thread thumbnails as well as the Popular Deals and Trending Deals on the right and add a little bit of color back, I have a quick solution for you.
Get the "Stylish" extension for chrome or firefox: Chrome: https://chrome.google.c Firefox: https://addons.mozilla. 1. Open Stylish extension. 2. Click Write New Style. 3. Make name Slickdeals. 4. Click Specify next to Everything, Select URLs on the domain, put in slickdeals.net 5. Copy/paste the following code Code:
@namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); .attachment-preview-cell_v2 { display: none; !important } #hottopic_rightcol { display: none; !important } td.alt1.smallfont, td.alt1.envelope { background: #F7F7E8; !important } 7. Profit???? |

Thanks for playing but you got 0 of 5 right.
I thought I could "get use to it" like every other thing they have changed but the new layout just sucks. Like I said before I will just use the basic html mobile site from now on.
Thumbnails are terrible garbage, make them go away /
They're so farking bloody awful, I hope that they don't stay

Now if they would just move the category tags over to the hard left (below the thread titles), it would make the deals so much easier to skim and make the pages look less junky.

I've been "upgraded"
Make it stop.
Now if they'd just fix a couple of the other issues, the new format wouldn't be so hard on the eyes.

For one thing I miss the the option to be able to expand the thread to read the first post. Is there an option to do this and I just cannot see it on my little notebook?

I miss the wiki paperclip, never clicked it but would make sure to read it on any HD threads. Now you have to scroll down from the OP to see if anyone has added additional info about the deal. I'm sure a lot of people 'used' the paperclip without clicking it but they seem to only care about clicks.
