Been watching for something in 47-55" range last few weeks for spare room, this just popped up today at Frys. Has previously only been down to $649.

I can't find a good pic of the side profile. That always scares me. Is it fat?

So how is this compares to the 48" Vizio that's on the FP?

Specs say 2.15 inches thick without the stand.

This comparable Vizio slim HDTV

is 2.5 inches thick.

However that Vizio lies and isn't true 120Hz.

The LG is their premium line of TVs so it's very slim.

The only good thing I see about it is the home screen opens quick. There are about 25 aps and the only one that even remotely looked useful was crackle, like I need another place to access that. Its just like the rest of them. The only aps available so far are just horrible. They look like they are ports of roku channels, just the worthless bad ones you would never use.

Woah, that's a plasma. I thought they stopped selling plasmas.

Up to you..depends on what you'll be using it for. Plasmas are better for gaming and deeper richer blacks.

I've always liked WebOS though ever since it was still owned by Palm. It's a very smooth UI for multi-tasking and has a promising future. LG's take on it is interesting.

I wish Apple bought the thing and used it on their iPads. I still think it's the best multi-tasking UI I've seen to date. No one else has come close. It's a little bit disappointing to see it being used on a TV honestly..

I've seen some smart TV UIS..and they are GARBAGE. My friend's Samsung was difficult to navigate and setup and it was a cluttered mess and laggy. The JVC we have is incredibly limited to 5 apps and I think is insulting to call it a "smart TV". We never use the functions on it, and have a Google TV box hooked up to it.

I like LG's take on it with WebOS. Much, much better. Intuitive switching, and the designer put a lot of thought into it.

I'm not sure how LG's standard Smart TVs compare to their premium WebOS line though. You'd have to tell me..

LMAO Wasn't able to have amazon pricematch. Their reason, 'limited promotion'.
