Target Ad 6/8 - 6/14 is showing to have some video game promo sales.

*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

- Save $15 off any video game priced $39.99 or more when you purchase any $1 preorder card. Great deal for any recently released game, especially for 3DS or Vita that are usually priced $39.99. Just a heads up the $1 preorder card does not apply to the game total. I think all of them involve a free $5 Target Card when you pick up the game. You don't have to pick up the preorder game. I don't think the $1 preorder card is refundable either. All the $1 preorder games are physical cards so deal is in store only.

Notable examples:

$46 (out of pocket) - Watch Dogs (any console), Mario Kart 8 (Wii U), Wolfenstein The New Order (any console), Murdered: Soul Suspect (any console. out 6/3), Infamous Second Son (PS4), MLB 14 The Show (PS4), Super Mario 3D World (Wii U).

$26 - Pokemon X or Y (3DS), Yoshi's New Island (3DS)

*****UPDATE***** Seems a lot of people are reporting that you can PM and do the pre-order promo. The system seems to be taking it off automatically. From what I'm seeing, any game that the normal MSRP is at least $39.99 before the price match, the promo will work.

Example: MLB 14 The Show (Playstation Vita) MSRP is $39.99 >>> PM Best Buy for $19.99 + $1 Preorder Card - $15 Promo = $5.99.

I just got back from Target again and got shot down. After seeing the $5.99 price, rep freaked out and said it didn't look right. Had to call a manager over to confirm. Manager stated they can't allow a PM and a promo even though the system was taking it. YMMV.

The Target Cartwheel has 3 offers for video games for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, or Xbox 360. 20% off any Assassin's Creed game, Call of Duty Ghosts, or any EA Sports game. Valid from now until 6/14, This should stack with the above promo but not 100%. Target price matches their own website but don't know if it can stack the PM of $39.99 w/ the pre-order promo so YMMV that some games would be $17.99.

Example: Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty Ghosts, or FIFA 14 (PS4 or Xbox One) $59.99 - $12 (20% off Cartwheel) + $1 (any pre-order card) - $15 (pre-order promo) = $33.99

*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

- 20% off any Vita game. Don't know if it'll stack the $15 off promo. If the system rings up the 20% off 1st, then it won't qualify for being mininum $39.99 price anymore. Would rather pick up games for $26 instead $32 Frown. Selection may be YMMV as they usually don't carry a lot of games. Most likely will carry the bigger more popular titles like Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster, Borderlands 2, and MLB The Show 14. Will update when on I try and pick up Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster a Borderlands 2 to see if the promo stacks.

*****UPDATE #1***** Does stack with pre-order promo! It still takes off the $15 due to the original price of $39.99. Grabbed the last Borderlands 2 that was only $17.99 w/ $1 pre-order card. Bad thing is that Target only carries a few titles. I only saw Tearaway, Uncharted, MLB, and COD that cost $39.99.

*****UPDATE #2***** Amazon has priced matched couple of the 20% off games for the $31.99 price. Borderlands 2, Tearaway, and Killzone.

*****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

- How to Train Your Dragon 2 (3DS) for $19.99 (MSRP $29.99). Releases 6/10. Tomodachi Life is advertised but is the normal MSRP of $34.99.

- 12 Month Playstation Plus for $39.99 (MSRP $49.99)

Hmm never had any experience with Target promos like this. Valid In store/online?

Any idea how the discount is given? Would I be able to use the $15 off on the Vita version of FFX/X-2 HD?

That would make it 25+tax which is just about $4 than the lowest I've ever seen it (29.99)

Or would I only be able to get the 20% off Vita titles which would only bring it to 32?

Of course. They can't charge you if the credit card isn't present.

Have they fixed the price match into $$ off combo that occurred naturally in their system? I thoroughly enjoyed my tomb raider for $1

If you can find FFx vita at a target that is. I recently bought the game a few weeks ago (right before they price dropped to $29.99). Had to go to gamestop since best buys, frys, and targets don't carry the vita version in stock.

Target can have really good game deals sometimes (such as B2G1 free for PS4 games right after launch). But their stock is very limited especially on RPGs and anything Vita. It seems they stopped stocking Vita consoles as well as PSP and Vita games in most stores. I checked with some Target stores when the new Borderlands Vita bundle came out and none had it; some said it had been months since they'd seen a Vita in their stock.

For the preorder deal, the problem is their preorders are limited to whatever couple of cards they have hanging on the hooks. Usually a very limited selection (i.e. Nintendo kids stuff and Call of Duty).

Don't get me wrong, I love Target and shop there all the time, and sometimes I get decent game deals too, but the selection is just too limited if you are into JRPGs, Vita games, etc. So I have to resort to the "dreaded" GameStop (not so bad in my personal experience), and online purchases at times.

they are cutting down on everything that doesn't move off the shelves fast and loses value fast. most targets stopped carrying cameras, lenses, computers accessories and components, etc. and it is hard to blame them. look at garbage like call of duty ghosts. literally a week after release it was going for $40. a month later for $30. that's a big loss especially since their profit margins are tiny compared to places like best buy
