Clue #1 - Get rooted.
If you can find the tallest giant in the land, you'll find that the million will lie to the East.
Answer #1- Hyperion, Redwood tree, Redwood National Forest, California

Clue #2 - Where the West expands.
The million will lie somewhere to the west of a monumental gateway to the West. The famous landmark is represented in this equation.

y = A (cosh X over L C -1)

x = L over C [cosh-1(1+y over A)]

Where, A = fc over Qb over Qt -1 = 68.7672

C = Cosh -1 Qb over Qt = 3.0022
Answer #2 - The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri. So, that puts the million East of Hyperion and West of the Gateway Arch.

Clue #3 Kick back in a peaceful place.
If you want a chance to claim the million, you'll have to head South of the first shared international, national park of its kind.

Answer #3 Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park in West Glacier, MT.

CLUE #4 - One Rare Critter -
This once endangered southwestern isopod is naturally found in only one thermal spring and shares its name with the county it lives in. Like this animal, the million will be found in only one spot. And to find it, you'll have to look further North.
ANSWER #4 - North of Sedillo Spring in Socorro County in New Mexico.

This Goes Back to Clue1 If you can find the tallest giant in all the land. The Petrified forest had the Tallest giants at one time. Clue 13 offers many more clues than the one I am mentioning here. 13 says if your riding shotgun then that Could?? Mean that the clue is leading to the passenger side of the car. then to see the Petrified forest sign 44 miles that would be in Arizona
I gotta work it into all the other clues and see where that takes me

Unfortunately Marlboro is down right now so I haven't seen the clue... however, the Petrified Forest is much farther south in Arizona then the driving route took us in previous clue(s). Yes there is a ton of work to do deciphering meanings of all the clues, we still have plenty of time but we do need to continue to toss around ideas and hear each other out on our thoughts.

The sign is on the video...on the timer try stopping video @ 1:08/1:11 and you'll see it.

Highway 12 is one of the most Scenic roads in America. The scenic byway spans a route of about 124 miles, and travels through some of the most diverse, remote, and ruggedly beautiful areas in the world. It passes through 2 National Parks, 3 State Parks, Historic Villages and everything in between. Along the way there are so many look out spots and small hikes that you could literally spend a week exploring this road. The history and culture of the surrounding area make the Scenic Byway 12 a journey you won't want to miss. If you have a spare day, fill up your tank with fuel and get this adventure checked off your bucket list.

Project type: Roads, highways and bridges, Utilities and Infrastructure

New Deal Agencies: Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

Description

A roadside information marker on Highway 12 reads:

"Before the Highway 12 route was built, traveling through this region was slow, hard work. As late as 1940, Boulder (Utah) still received its mail by mule train for part of the year. The Civilian Conservation Corps had completed the Hell's Backbone Road between Escalante and Boulder in 1933, allowing vehicle traffic in summertime. But when winter snows closed that road, the only routes between the two towns were wagon trails through the canyons…In 1935, the Civilian Conservation Corps crews began to build the Lower Boulder Road, now part of Highway 12. Nicknamed the "Million Dollar Road," the road took five years, backbreaking effort, ingenuity, and many tons of dynamite to complete. Crews blasted through sandstone ledges down to the Escalante River and up Calf Creek Canyon. On June 21, 1940, jubilant community members celebrated completion of the first all-season automobile road between the two communities."

Frying Pan Flat is the last sign in the video. Strange how they are backtracking from South Last Chance Creek. May mean something.

I have a few "nitpicks" with this clue. Just wanting to run it by you all to see what you think.

So, this is the verbal/written part of clue #13.

Tackle this third leg of the road trip and you'll be one step closer to the million's location.
Stay awake. You may be riding shotgun, but you don't want to miss the scenery. The final leg of the trip is coming next week.

Nitpicks #1) Tackle #2) Shotgun

Could we be looking for a park where you can fish and hunt?

Nitpick #3) Stay awake

Do they mean stay awake (literally) because this part of the road trip is an 8 hour drive?

Now here's a FUN question.

What if...

What if you won? What would you do with it? Be realistic because the tax man cometh so you'll end up with probably/about $600,000.00
