The offer
Similar deals last year (do a search and your question may have already been answered back then)
  • 7/2013:
    • Wiki said "Offer excludes Best Buy Express, Gift Cards, e-gift cards & standalone Pacific Sales stores." But GCs still worked back then.
    • A lot of people bought $200 Visa GC + $50 Kindle or BestBuy GC. Use the Visa GC like cash, and think of the deal as a huge discount on the Kindle or BestBuy GC.
  • 11/2013:

GCs (at least as of last year -- I haven't been there for a while)
  • They had $20-$200 variable Visa GC, Kindle GC, phone cards, not many other third party GCs, and their own BestBuy GC.
  • The $20-$200 variable Visa GC had a $5.95 activation fee.
  • I bought 5 Visa GCs ($200 * 4 + $170.25), and including fees I split (request "split payment") $1000 on 4 Amex.

My Best Buy:
  • I also received reward points for buying the GCs, which counted toward Elite status.
  • If you are not Elite/Elite Plus, you get 1 point for $1 spent.
  • If you are Elite/Elite Plus, it seems bonus points are NOT awarded for GC purchases now (, "CALCULATION AND TIMING OF POINTS", "Do Elite and Elite Plus members get points differently?")
  • 250 reward points = $5 reward certificate, which can be used to buy Kindle GC.
    • The portion of your purchase paid for with your reward certificate is not taxed. But if you don't have something to buy, Kindle GC works.
    • The price of the item(s) must exceed the value of a reward certificate. If you have multiple reward certificates, they can be redeemed at the same time.
If you take advantage of an offer on our site, Slickdeals may receive a commission.

There is no need to create separate twitter or FB accounts. Connect one card, tweet, immediately disconnect that card. Then connect another card and tweet again.

You can disconnect your card from the bottom of this page:

↑ sounds like more work than creating a new acct and linking a separate card.

For those with multiple Amex cards and a separate Twitter account for each card: Use the Tweetcaster app for your phone. You just enter your user/pass in for each account once into the app, and then it keeps all of your accounts signed into the app simultaneously. When you get an Amex offer, you can select all of your accounts at once, send one tweet, and you're done. Really simplifies the process instead of signing in and out of multiple twitter accounts and sending a separate tweet for each. Tweetcaster allows you to send one tweet from multiple accounts at the same time. Saves lots of time on Amex Twitter deals.

In the long run it's FAR more convenient than the suggestion above to connect/disconnect all your cards every time, especially for those with 10+ cards.

Finally an offer that works with Amex Serve. Found it on Facebook. Thanks.

edit: Spending $250 would net you enough BB rewards points for a $5 certificate as well.

I used to use shopkick on visa GCs but last time I did it (like a month ago) I didn't get the points. Actually they gave me 6 points for the activation fee but that's nothing compared to the 1000+ points you should get.
