I'm not sure if this has already been posted or not, but I received a letter in the mail the other day with the following offer.
This may or may not be nationwide, but I'm located in Maryland (Montgomery County).
And, apparently, my building has been identified as a Priority Service address,

FIOS 25/25 Mbps Internet - $29.99/mo (with a 2-yr agmt)
Or $39.99/mo (no contract)

http://www.verizon.com/fios/4ag
Free activation/in-home installation
Free modem/wireless router

I currently have unreliable Xfinity Comcast Performance Internet service (10-20 down/5 up), paying $39.99 (no contract), $8 modem rental, +tax = $48.47

wave Sayonara Comcast!! wave

Wish, this can come to Baltimore soon, Comcast has monopolized for too long with their pricy and unstable xfinity.

OP, there's something wrong with the attachment, cannot access.

What are the pros to switching to Fios other than the price? My service with Xfinity is good.... no complaints.

I pay ~$160 for TV, Phone, and Internet. I don't even want the phone but it's cheaper with the triple play.

Really? It works for me on my laptop, as well as my cell phone.
Are you on Comcast by any chance? Big Grin JK!

Internet wise, fiber to your house. Much faster and reliable speeds, at least where I am. Also a fully symmetrical connection. Xfinity, your upload speed will always be slower than your download speed. With FIOS it is the same.

I have the 75/75 connection and I love it.

I don't have experience with the TV or phone side. I do technically have the local TV package but I never bothered to connect the wire to the TV. I only did it to get the bundle discount.

Some users report that FIOS throttles Netflix traffic and they have trouble getting HD streams from Netflix. I can say from my experience I don't have any issues with this- maybe because I technically subscribe to their TV service?

I get 100mbps with Xfinity + basic cable (not used) for $51 a month, no complaints at all.

With FIOS I couldn't use Netflix or Youtube during peak hours. I had a 50/25 connection, but felt worse than DSL.

Again, I'm not sure why but I haven't had a single issue with FIOS. Maybe my area is simply not oversubscribed or saturated? Or maybe since I subscribe to TV service technically, I don't get throttled?

I've gone on all day Netflix binges, etc and haven't seen any issues in the year I've had FIOS. But it does seem a lot of people do have issues and throttling. So I really have no idea. I'm in the Dallas area if that helps.

I just called about this offer and wound up with a better one. 49.99 a month got me Quantum speed, Local Channels + HBO for two years with NO CONTRACT. Added another 20 for 2 boxes and the router they make you pay for. $72 dollars for fast internet and TV with HBO.

Managed to get all of the install and activation fees waved too.
