PS4 Availability based on http://www.destinythegame.com/digital-upgrade:

Q. If I pre-ordered the PlayStation®3 digital version, when will my PlayStation®4 digital version of Destiny be available?

The PlayStation®4 digital upgrade will be available to you as close to launch as possible. We anticipate the PlayStation®4 version will be ready for you by Wednesday 9/10 at 6pm PDT, but please check back here for updates. Unfortunately, the PlayStation®4 upgrade will NOT be available for pre-order or pre-load.

bummer, i thought you did not need to use the same PSN account to download both versions.. that would have been sweet.

So basically it is a free upgrade and they are allowing people to buy the game now for their older console and then upgrade later when they get a new one. That is cool. Of course after playing the beta I lost interest in Destiny.

I actually think this may be a bad sign because I question the longevity of the product. Basically they want people to buy it now versus analyzing it a few months after release and then not buying it because it was a dud.

This is freaking amazing. Even more of a reason for me to put off getting a PS4 for a couple of months. Woo!

After playing the beta I too feel like it is a did, honestly my friends and I are looking more towards CoD AW. This game will get a good start but after a month it will be a wasteland of epic proportions.

Aw man. I preordered the PS4 version on Amazon with the gift cards I got so I didn't have to pay anything. I still have my ps3. I'd love it if I bought the ps4 version if they'd let me have a ps3 version as well.

So...should I just cancel my preorder for PS4 and preorder for ps3, then upgrade? I guess that'd work.

Not really sure what you're complaining about here. The deadline to buy and redeem is by January 15, 2015. That's 4 months to decide. It doesn't say anything about being restricted to a preorder bonus. Wait until the day of release, or even a few days after for reviews to come in. Hell, most reviews will probably become available before official release. I think this is a very smart move on their part.

What other company offers you any kind of deal like this after the game has been out indefinitely. The only other deal I remember like this I think was buying Portal for PS3 and getting it for PC or something g like that.

So wait...
If i preorder on PSN PS3, I will get to keep the PS3 even after upgrading to Ps4 version too?

Clarifying this for PSN store?
