I've been eyeing this TV for awhile now and it looks like the prices are starting to drop again. This set rivals the Panasonic ZT series.

PN64F8500: $2,497.99

Chase and Discover both have 5% cashback from Amazon this quarter. You can use Discover's price protection in case the price drops in the next 90 days.

Very nice TV, not sure why they never made a 55". Doesn't have that annoying fan noise the VT/ZT has either!

At this price you are better off with a 4k set. Even the new vizio with full arrays will be cheaper and better.

That does seem a little much for a <75" 1080p screen

Purchased a Samsung 4k 8550 and returned for the 8500, best thing I did. Only way I'll consider getting a 4k tv is when OLED makes 4k.

Agreed, there's no real point in 4K LCD/LED as the motion is not as smooth and there isn't that much true 4K content. OLED will be a whole different story down the road.

Thanks OP!.PM'ed at ABT Electronics, no tax in Cali Smilie I have been waiting for Microcenter Tustin to restock LG 55" OLED until this deal shows up. I would probably wait for larger size OLED.I have Panny VT's but Sammy is brighter and it's more suitable in my living room.

One thing I need to say about this TV, unless you have seen it in person, you will not be able to appreciate this amazing TV!!!. The PQ on it is AMAZING!!! One of the best pure pictures I have seen. The quality of the color is outstanding!! I do not own one, but I have always held this model to be one of the top PQ tv's out there.also, there is NO issue with Brightness levels that are issues on the panasonic VT series. I was amazed at just how bright the picture is on the model for a Plasma, amazing when compared to the Panny's that were next to it at the time(since discontinued). If this came down to Around $2,000 I would be a buyer big time. anyone who decides to buy this, you will not be disappointing, also don't forget 2% credit back + 5% cashback through Discover card or through Chase card.. so that is another $75 + $50 in amazon credit.

Thanks. In for one! I've been waiting for the 64" to get around this price. Put it on the Discover card so I can PM if it goes on sale for BF too. I called and confirmed that Discover will match BF pricing this year (up to $500). Smilie

Other option is 5% back with Chase Freedom card through Amazon if you enrolled for this promotion this quarter.

Hope this TV is as good as the reviews I read state it is!!

It's $2,049.00 here with free shipping. Not sure about the vender, but don't see anything negative about them (yet)...

I have been deciding between the three 64" Samsung plasmas (f5350 h5000 and this f8500)... The f5350 was under $1,000 previously... That's what I'm trying to hold out for but the f8500 is tempting at a little over $2k.
