I can't convince myself to buy this altho I do want one. I'm so weak. The castration from my wife was a factor.

Qnap makes a great product. I got an 870 pro recently and it changed my life. My windows home server was killing me. These rarely go on sale.

Scroll down 1/4, it does support Plex. 99% of the reason I just bought one. Note that it is back-ordered until 11/11.

I just set up a NAS for someone, but I acquired the parts piece meal:

- 1 NZXT 8 3.5" bay case, $40 refurb on newegg
- 4 2TB WD Red HDDs, $360 at $90 each on newegg
- 1 430W Corsair PSU, ~$40 on newegg (maybe rebate)
- 1 brown box Super Micro LGA1150 motherboard, ~$100 on eBay
- 1 8GB DIMM ECC unbuffered memory (on the QVL for the motherboard), $90 superbiiz/eWiz
- 1 Intel i3 4150, $95 Fry's
- 1 SanDisk micro 16GB USB thumb[nail] drive, ~$8 on sale Amazon

Came to about $730. Comparing specs, I'd say that building your own might be the more cost-effective option.
