Not sure if this has been posted, but I found Newegg has the TS-451 on sale for $339.99 w/ coupon 48HRSALE999. This is better than the front page deal a couple of days ago @BHphotovideo.

Edit:
Newegg also has the TS251 for $253.99 w/ coupon SPONDAYS212.

my only question about this product... how would you get access to data if the box is going bad? win can't read it ... what happens with the raid setup if you move it into a different box?

I'm not an expert but I think as long as the hard drives are fine you will be able to access your data either by using another NAS or even you computer. The raid formats are universal, which means they can be ready by any comptuers/NAS.

Price for the TS 451 seems frontpage worthy. True black friday price given smallnetbuilder's review quoted the price at as high as 700 on amazon [smallnetbuilder.com] only three months ago. Also, the number seems to be screwy as the 451 appears to be the newer model then the 469 (although it has more ports, but less ram options).

Also please don't forget, RAID does NOT EQUAL Backup.

You should be using the RAID as an always on / nearline storage but you should still be backing it up.

E.g. put 2x3tb in the 2 bay, RAID 1; then use a USB 3 external to back your RAID up.
