UPDATE: Deal was previously a "In-Store" item only meant to get you in-store in the hopes of you buying other stuff.
TW700 can be ordered online now (I'm sort of thinking they may be phasing it out, hopefully replacing it with models with more ram!)

Price is $59.99+ $5.99 FedEx shipping=Total $65.98, (no tax in states where MicroCenter does not have a presence) .
Available directly thru MicroCenter.com, or via Amazon with Microcenter being the seller.

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!

Microcenter just came out with a program that frees up disk space on win book tablets. Free up 4gigs for me.
WBOptimize
http://www.microcentertech.com/wi...index.html
There have been reports of WBOptimize.EXE which is at the bottom of the TW700 product page on MicroCenter.com site which increases the amount of available memory space containing a TROJAN in the EXE.
https://www.virustotal.com/

Scanning via VirusTotal.com the exe having a HASH VALUE of:
SHA256: ff46e14dd1fa751e9c20e8c1976c1cf7503a35355fcc2abdc09855c758371298

2015-01-18 23:46:12 UTC
Shows 26 of 56 scanners detecting a Trojan:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/fil...421624772/

26 of 56 scanners showing a Trojan?, ouch.

(IMO opinion MicroCenter which is the company behind the WinBook needs to get on the ball and submit samples to the various A/V companies ASAP to put the issue to rest.)

While the exe is most likely a "false positive", before blindly running it consider doing the edits manually the exe is supposed to do, OR run the file or URL thru VirusTotal.com (Or site of your choice) to see how many hits you get.

FYI: If you don't want to run the exe:
Freeing up disc space can also be done manually, EG: set page file to 1024 fixed, disable hibernation mode, select C:\, run Disk Cleanup, run CCleaner to delete install files for updates that have been applied.

************************
May be possible to get the TW700 for $29 before tax via coupon mailed to loyal customers:
Extreme YMMV: Check with friends/family/neighbors to see if any have received the PAPER COUPON in the mail. With the mailed paper coupon, the TW700 is $29!

Micro Center is now calling this tablet the TW70CA17, not the TW700.

While I would imagine Win 8.1 would be ssssssllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww on this tab, and the 7" screen may be really tiny, I don't understand why anyone would want to TD the deal. I have cast my offset TU vote Smilie

So is this a 7" version of the TW800 with the same specs minus the screen size?

Multiple people mention it's a USB 2 port vs. USB 3 on all of the other WinBook models.

I'm tempted despite the 1 GB RAM, especially since I could probably sell the Office key for at least as much as the tablet purchase price.

The review mentioned in the first post specifically mentions it, so I'm going to assume yes.

If you're stuck with 1 GB of RAM I don't see how.

"Possibly USB 3"?
