Dah! My local Costco actually had the V775 and I bought it for $489. At $299, I'll gladly give up a few features that I realize I won't be using much now that I've played with the 775 for a few days. It's going back 'cause I just grabbed this one. rep!!!

I'm having one hell of a time deciding between this and the refurb Denon X2000 for the same price at A4L, or even the Denon E400. I already tried the Yamaha RX-V577 that was a SD a couple weeks ago and ended up sending it back. Not sure if I just wasn't as pleased with the sound as I wanted to be, or just the fact that I have been wanting a Denon with Audyssey for quite a while now.

UGH!!! This is difficult.

Not that I don't trust refurbs, it's just I feel better about buying new. I also get the extra year warranty through Chase Slate and Yamaha's (from what I've read) are some of the most dependable receivers out there. This Yamaha only goes on sale once a year for this price too, so I bit. (I know cuz I regretted all year not buying the 673 last year for the same price.)

Hope you get what you're looking for Smilie

Costco V775BT includes a USB BT module, it has 2nd HDMI out. It has PreOuts and Zone 2 Line outs. It's got an input selector knob in front.

V775 has multi listening YPAO config. V675 does have Zone 2 but el cheapo spring loaded speaker outs.

Sure I could see myself doing some wireless speakers in the back yard and it would come in handy but it's $190 less... that's the cost of wireless speakers and whatever gadget to drive them.

As for the BT function, well it's useful, but I have Chromecasts and Fire TV stick (coming), that's to me the preferred streaming route for my tastes. Nothing against BT connectivity.

Amazon returns are great if you get a dud, but nothing beats Costco returns of course.

The online manual for the 675/775 are actually the same doc. So I believe the upscaling of 480i is the same (convenient for my old Wii I still use).

Their AV controller app I think is sufficient. Turns on and off the unit and does the basic input changes and DSP changes. I've toggled between this app and Pandora (w/ Chromecast). Yamaha does have Pandora app and it's good enough too. I just like the IOS Pandora UI is all.

Thanks. I think DH wants the Zone 2 more than anything for some good permanent outdoor speakers. Guess I'll have him compare and hope they still have this one a little later today.

Do you have to buy the Wireless network adapter for this to work with the app if you do not have Ethernet?

http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YWA-...B0085ZIN4W

The reviews on it are pretty bad.

Yes. If you want wifi, you have to have that dongle.
