We have an appointment at 3:20PM, so we're going to stop at a NY-style pizza joint on the way back. This is the #2 pizza place, but #1 for calzones.

Up about 7, which is sleeping late for me. Plenty of good
Since we returned home, we've masked off the glass on the lantern, primed almost all the parts/pieces, and shot the first coat of finish paint onto them. I rushed three coats of finish paint onto the first lantern, and it took a long, long time to cure/harden completely. I'm giving this one a lot more time between finish coats. I won't bother putting it back together until tomorrow sometime.
Right now, there's a lime custard pie in the oven making the house smell nice, and we're taking it easy this afternoon. Tonight we're heading to Fleming's Steakhouse uptown for my birthday dinner. We used to eat at Fleming's in Los Angeles when I was working with DIRECTV in the old days. I've been wanting to try them here in Charlotte for a while, and that opportunity comes this year. For many years, we've driven two hours up into the mountains to Boone to eat at The Peddler steakhouse. This year, we were planning to take a shorter drive to the new Peddler steakhouse in Hickory, NC. Until we saw all the terrible reviews on Yelp yesterday.
