My chromebox died on me, can't get linux to boot so I'm contemplating getting 1 of these and just running windows. My Q190 works ok but this is cheaper and I might have a sodimm that would work in this.

What's the likelihood that a stick of 4GB 1066 1.35v ram from an old macbook will work for this?

The extra 4gb dimm in my chromebox would actually work in this. This is getting more and more tempting. I really wished that the i3 versions of these NUCs would drop down in price. Probably not to sub $150 or even sub $200 prices but how about $250?

Very likely. I got the barebones version of this recently and popped in an old stick of Mushkin 1066 1.5 V ram and it worked just fine. According to the Bios the board adjusted the Vddr voltage to 1.5.
