I searched and couldn't find any mention of this, but it may be helpful to some. I received an email from Capital One:

"Trade up: Same account, better features. Start earning unlimited 1.5% cash back with your existing account. It's super quick and easy!

There's no need to reapply, and you'll keep your existing account. Your credit score won't be affected.

Enjoy these new rewards with no annual fee.

EARN UNLIMITED 1.5% CASH BACK on every purchase, every day.
NO ROTATING CATEGORIES OR SIGN-UPS needed to earn cash rewards.
REDEEM YOUR CASH BACK for any amount, any time-it won't expire.

Earn unlimited 1.5% cash back with your existing account!"

Update: Confirmed by several users, if you're not seeing the upgrade option on your online account ("modify your features" under the accounts tab), simply call Capital One at 1-877-513-9959 and they'll process the upgrade in a matter of minutes.

All you need to do is click "Modify Your Features" sub-tab on the "Accounts" tab.

Once you are there, select "Your Features" icon.

A drop-down will appear with the last digits of your account number. If you have multiple credit card accounts, then select the account that you want to review and click the "Go" button.
a horrible card with terrible cashback.

Also, you can call cap one 1-877-513-9959 and they should be able to upgrade you if you didn't get an email or letter in snail mail

As a reminder, both the Fidelity Investment/Retirement rewards Amex and the Citi Double Cash Mastercard offer 2% cashback. I know this post is to upgrade existing accounts w/ no credit pull, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone reading this thread doesn't already have this card and is considering getting one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I posted this because I've had my platinum card with cap one since 2008 and only have had ONE credit limit increase - from $500 to $750. And I've asked multiple times lol. It was my first credit card. Maybe now that I finally upgraded they will increase my limit, and the card may be of some use to me (no foreign transaction fees - just like discover but MC way more widely accepted abroad). And I know there are better cards out there with no forex fees but I don't want to open another credit card at this time. So hopefully other people will find value in this, glad to see capital one finally making some kind of effort to upgrade their loyal long time customers!

During the summer I was able to change a VentureOne via online customer service chat without any issue, so if you're feeling lazy you might prefer to go that route. Request a product change from your current card to the Quicksilver Rewards Visa. Specifically mention the QS Rewards Visa since there is another product, the QuicksilverOne Rewards MasterCard, which has an annual fee.

I know the Journey card is pretty easy to get if anybody is looking to get a card that's unsecured. My friend and I got it with no history two/three years back.

When I spoke to CapOne a few months ago, the rep said they will only PC an actual CapOne card, IE, not Xyz Company issued by CapOne.

I feel you. My QS is at a $750 CL. I've requested multiple increases. My next lowest card is $3k (Citi doesn't like me) . Every other card is $6k or more, with most of them being in the $12-30k range. My QS is useless to me. In fact, to help our baby sitter / close family friend get off to a good credit start, I added her as a AU on my QS card. $750 CL is more than sufficient for her.

I have the Sony Card too and am wondering the same thing. Please let me know if you try and how it goes.
