Thread Details

Just read that starting 4/16/15, serve is ending the ability to fund accounts with a credit card such as visa, mastercard, or discover. You will only be able to fund with an AMEX credit card and those don't earn points (but can be used to meet min. spend).

Question is: what options remain?

Amazon payments has died. Now serve. Is this the end of the world as we know it?

Visa and MC DC loads are still allowed so that's a ray of hope. Now, if this same rule is applied to in-store CC loading of Redcards, that will be a disaster for me.

It is best to spread loads in as many prepaids as one can find and always find new MS methods because gigs die quicker now.

You can buy the prepaid GCs and then because they allow a PIN treat them as a Debit card is what I'm guessing he means.

For example buy a $500 Visa GC for $5.95 and then assign the PIN and use it to load.

I've kind of wondered if you could just use it to pay for groceries and cash the rest out. Haven't ever tried it Big Grin

I meant there are certain V/MC debit cards that Serve accepts for online loads up to $1500 for those with Serve-Softcard account ($1K for regular Serve). Until they change that, I will continue to use my DC that earns me a little CB.

VGCs with PIN are only accepted as debit loads for in-store loading via Kate, MC or regular registers at WM.

These VGCs CANNOT be used for online loading even if they are registered.

Of course. This only applies to the discontinuation of non-Amex CREDIT CARD loads.
