I see a cerified refurbished model for $819 base price:
i5-5200U Processor / 4GB Ram / 128GB SSD / FHD display

Not as great as the 40% deal from last week on the higher end configs, but for the base unit it's still a very good price.

Break down on the options. Looks like most prices are $90 off new. Then $350 off from the coupon. So savings of $440 off new. The best deal (percentage savings) are on the lower end models. Keep in mind that RAM is soldered on and not upgradable. Make sure you get the RAM that you think you need for the next few years (or however long you are hoping this lasts for you).

FHD - 1920 x 1080 - 15 hour battery life
QHD+ - 3200 x 1800 - 11 hour battery life
Pretty good comparison between the QHD+ and FHD versions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP10A4tVfVM

Hard drive is upgraded able mSATA v2
RAM is NOT upgradable - mother board soldered.
  1. i3/4gb/128/FHD - $729 - 350 = $379 + tax (48% off)
  2. i5/4gb/128/FHD - $819 - 350 = $469 + tax (43% off)
  3. i5/4gb/128/FHD - $560 + tax
  4. i5/8gb/128/FHD - 919 - 350 = $569 + Tax (38% off)
  5. i5/8gb/256/FHD (Win 8.1) - 1029 - 350 = $679 + tax (34% off)
  6. i5/8gb/256/FHD (Win 8.1 Pro) - 1059 - 350 = $709 + tax (33% off)
  7. i5/8gb/128/QHD - $1209 - 350 = $849 + tax (29% off)
  8. i5/8gb/256/QHD - $1299 - 350 = $949 + tax (27% off)
  9. i7/8gb/256/QHD - $1489 - 350 = $1139 + Tax (24% off)
  10. i7/8gb/512/QHD - $1829 - 350 = $1479 + tax (19% off)

To those asking "why are there so many refurbs on a 2015 model?" - these are, most likely, buyer's remorse returns. Brand new, just repackaged. UPDATE: Some of these may be returns due to the adaptive screen (auto-brightness) being annoying and unable to turn off. According to Anandtech [anandtech.com]:
Quote :
Update: Dell has enabled Content-Adaptive Backlight Control, which we have seen in other devices like the Nokia Lumia 930. Dell has let me know they are looking into a way to have the end user disable this feature.

4gb is plenty for me for a while, and I may just order and try to cancel. If they discount it I'll keep it, and if not, it wasn't meant to be lol

Thoughts?

Nice find and another option for great savings on a nice machine.

Given this deal is a fixed $350 vs. a variable "25% off" the prior deal (ignoring all the 30-40% off codes), this is actually a better deal for any XPS13 priced less than $1,400. For instance, if you get a $900 machine, this will be $550, a 38% discount!

Of course, Dell has increased the price of the XPS 13 refurbs since the first round hit the Outlet, but still this is a very slick deal.

I keep seeing the i5/8gb/128gb/qHD touch display refurb for $1209 pop up. I want the i5/8gb/128gb/FHD model.

Is my only choice to keep refreshing?
