ASUS RT-AC68W (W = White) Wireless-AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Router is on sale at Newegg for $139.99 after coupon code EMCARNW79 with free shipping. The RT-AC68W is identical to the RT-AC68U and RT-AC68R, with the difference only being the color.

I believe this is the lowest price so far.

- Up to 600+1300Mbps Wireless Data Rates
- Three times faster performance than 802.11n routers
- Broadcom TurboQAM technology increases wireless-N data rate to 600 Mbps
- 1 x Gigabit WAN port, 4 x Gigabit LAN ports, 1 x USB3.0/1 x USB 2.0 support Printer/HDD/(3G/4G dongle) sharing.

Merlin firmware: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/...ters.7846/

This one is NOT T-Mobile's version. There's no need to pollute this space with all those TM-AC1900 info.

Nice price for new, if you come up empty on the Target clearance:

(would live to find it tax-free, to sweeten the deal)

The good thing is you can always use a custom firmware on these. Many enhancements.

Reviews are typically polarized on wireless routers.

Half are Five Star - because the person could get it to work.

Half are One Star - because the person couldn't get it to work, or doesn't know how to get it to work, they get frustrated, return it, and give it one star.

Then you might have a few scattered two, three, and four star.

I have the Asus RT-AC68R for over a year now, and it is rock solid.

how dows it compare to netgear r7000? I noticed most of these AC routers follow the same naming convention..i.e. AC1900

Do they use the same chipset?

Thanks
