Not a great deal. Costco has a brand new model with the 55-200mm zoom, bag, and card for $649. sell the lens for $150 if you don't want it.

Eh the a7000 has to be just around the corner. Can't believe it's taking them so long to release,

There is no Samsung mirrorless equivalent to the a6000 LMAOLMAO

Great deal. Been using my a6000 for almost a year. Still digging it and feeling no need to upgrade.

I've seen this same reply in another thread and I don't understand it. Costco sold out of that bundle before this or the other thread were made.

It's almost like those people that reply stating it can't be a good deal because they purchased an open box a6000 for $200.

If I need this camera today, this deal is the current low price by quite a bit and that makes it a good deal.

Overrated camera in all respects except autofocus.

To clarify:
Build quality is chintzy
EVF sucks (but it's less sucky than some competitors like Panasonic I guess)
Low-ISO shots are good but high-ISO shots are about unusable as most other non-FF mirrorless cameras
Native lense selection is sparse, and all non-FE E-mount lenses suck except for a few primes (e.g. 35/1.8, 24/1.8)

Last point is killer. There are no half-decent pancake primes for the E-mount (a la Panasonic 20mm, Fuji 18mm, Samsung has the 30mm, heck even Canon has the 22mm).

I only own sony (a6000 a7ii rx1) so I think I can be called a fanboy but nahhh I wish I had gone nikon path and had a d750 these days. But since I am getting rid of most of my gear anyway and cutting my load...

just too sick of sony doing this. releasing cameras that are never fully executed and these come out every couple of months with price dropping like shit, and never putting everything together in one body but separating them out in different bodies everytime.

But gotta give it to A6000 though, except cutting it on the build material and quality, this was about as close as sony got to a perfect mirrorless camera (for apsc anyway).

Cute. Only took #13 to provide an intelligent, thoughtful contrary opinion.

One of the interesting things is that for decades, SLR (and then DSLR) photography was really about the glass. Bodies came and went but quality lenses were forever. Professional photographers busted shutters and went through camera bodies more than once a year.

Nowadays the media seems to focus an unnecessary amount of attention on the camera hardware. The only mirrorless lens selections Sony E-mount is really ahead of are those from Pentax/Canon/Nikon.
