Samsung Galaxy Gear S [rakuten.com]

This deal is back! Wireless Market (at Rakuten) has a Samsung Galaxy Gear S for $184.99 (instant $15.00 off coupon automatically applied to the $199.99 price - this discount expires 5/28). This is for the model: "Samsung Galaxy Gear S R750 SM-R750A Smart Watch - Black - SM-R750 BLK"

I bought this the last time it went on sale. It came "new, open box" - which I was told was because they have to unlock the watch. If you're subscribed to T-Mobile or AT&T, you can add it to your plan for $5-10/month, which gets it a data sim card for you to make calls and surf and what-not. I have Verizon, so I use it as a standalone, which means I sync/pair it with my phone - and need to keep my phone within Bluetooth range for it to receive emails and texts.

For an off-contract Gear S, this is a pretty good deal. Most (with contracts) are coming in at about $199 or so.

From what I've experienced, they receive a lot of orders. They had a deal for refurbished Gear S's, but it looks like this is for "new, open box" Gear S's. They processed and shipped pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, AT&T is now charging $20/month for existing customers to add a connected/smart watch to their plan. It must be added as a "new line".

Oh golly one of those watches... I'll pass. I think that while these are going to be useful someday, i don't need another techthing strapped to my wrist all the time. Maybe this is for the younger generation, but a phone in my pocket at all times is more than enough for me.
