Microsoft Store [microsoftstore.com] has ASUS Zenbook UX305FA Ultrabook (UX305FA-USM1) for $599 when using the code PCGRAD15. Shipping is free and returns are free.

This is a great laptop and Microsoft store has been having trouble keeping the signature edition (no bloatware) in stock. I'd hurry as who knows how long their stock will last. Price at all other sites is $699 and is typically the non-signature version.

This is a non-touch screen unit. One of the best, if not the best, ultrabooks at this price point. The Dell XPS13 is nicer but tack on another $400. This isn't for graphics heavy applications as the unit is only sporting the Intel Core M (fanless) which is better for light use like email, web browsing, MS office tasks, or streaming video. This isn't the laptop for heavy editing like photoshop etc. When the core heats up the only thing it can do is throttle the chip down since it can't just speed up the fan. So overtax it and you'll see performance loss. So just know what you want this for.

Specs
• Intel Core M-5Y10C
• 8GB DDR3
• 256GB SSD
• 13.3" 1920x1080 IPS LED Display
• Intel HD Graphics 5300
• 3-cell 45WHr Battery
• 2.65lbs
• Windows 8.1

Rep'd for finding a good deal but a warning - that Core M processor is lower power and if you're doing a lot of fairly heavy Photoshop or similar processor intensive work, you might be disappointed. Check out reviews on Engadget, Anandtech, and Tom's Hardware to get an idea of Core M's limitations. Most peeps won't notice a difference though and for them this is Zenbook at 600 bucks is a GREAT deal.

Anyone have any idea of whether or not this will go on sale for lower near the end of summer?

If this was backlit I'd jump. Waiting for the XPS 13 to drop now. I see Adorama has a gold model for the same price before coupon. Maybe they'd match. Would be no tax for many.

Power button right above the backspace key and next to delete could be an issue, especially with my typing!

Thanks!
I have been in the market for a new laptop that had good battery life and more portable for the last week or two. I actually checked this out yesterday but i was sad to see it out of stock!

I tried to use the shop discover for 5% more cashback ~ 30$
It may not work but who knows (They say no promo codes)

looks nice but the price to performance ratio is not promising.

Using one of these right now that I picked up from the Microsoft Store last time it was this price. For word processing, excel, web browsing and light facebook games this thing is perfect. IPS screen is great. I travel around a lot for work and this thing at just over 2.5lbs is fantastic. Battery life is great, usually get around 7 - 8 hours. Touchpad is responsive, but the mouse click buttons seem to be a bit louder than a lot of other laptops.

You're buying this for the battery life, screen and form factor. Don't expect to be doing heavy gaming or graphic intense apps. This is my go to machine for everyday use.

What else does the code work on? Will it work on Surface tablets?

EDIT: Nope: http://www.microsoftstore.com/sto...ale_150514

keep in mind that the cpu is only a slightly slower version than the one on the new macbook, and at $599, it's less than half the cost (with similar specs otherwise). yes it won't be sufficient for power hungry software, but the reviews are glowing for what it actually is. if you're looking for a power laptop at this price range, you wouldn't be looking in the thin & light section. the specs otherwise are actually pretty darn impressive.
