I didn't see any posts about this, but Target also has the Char-Griller 16620 Akorn Kamado Kooker Charcoal Barbecue Grill and Smoker on clearance for $150.00. I checked at Lowe's and Home Depot following my visit to Target and Home Depot had them for $330. Deal is obviously YMMV. I hope this helps someone out.

This was in Dallas, TX. I'm sorry, but I'm new to the game and didn't even realize what a DPCI was. However, I am going back tonight and will try to get that number for you.

This does not even appear to be ceramic. I am not sure you are getting the benefit of one of these egg-shaped grills if it is made of steel. Beware, this seems like a bad knockoff to me. Can anyone confirm the material that forms the egg?

Beware, most people here probably know that it is insulated steel. This is a pretty popular item on SD and there have been a lot of threads on it.

Any chance you can price match to a Home Depot?

captain obvious to the rescue.

Its also not $800.

Its double walled steel with a thick ceramic coating. People who grill lots more than me say its about 90% of the performance of a real ceramic egg (cue the BGE fanboys to come defend the honor of their $1k grills)

its also a lot lighter than the BGE style grills which IMO is a big selling point.

Thanks. I did not know that. I would think the insulated steel is quite inferior to the ceramic, which made the shape famous. But, to each his own. I was not trying to crap, just make certain people who are looking for a ceramic egg were not misled.

Captain Obvious out.

I found one last night at the Target in Houston. Westheimer/Eldridge Parkway Store

They had 5 or so more. Red and Black models.

$149.98

I used this site to find one in stock.

If anyone lives in the Milwaukee, WI area, the Greenfield Target on 27th St. has a lot of these in stock at this price. I just picked one up and they had at least 4 more next to it (brickseek said there were ~15 in stock before I went). They have them in both black and red colors.

Not in stock at any Target in the Northern Virginia area. I'll just stick with my smoker for now.

They actually work closely to the level of the ceramic. They are close enough to warrant the purchase at normal retail which is around $300 bucks. Ceramics are awesome but so is this thing.
