I've been on the FamilyTalk Nation 700 with Rollover plan for about 8 years, and just got a text from AT&T that they are upgrading me to unlimited talk time as long as I keep this plan. Logging in on the website the plan name is still the same, but all 4 of my lines show unlimited minutes available.
Not sure if this is across the board with all legacy plan - perhaps you can get it by calling and asking if not?
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

First Note: Unlimited Data Plans have had their soft-cap increased from 5GB to 22GB: http://www.att.com/esupport/datau...mP3xnilMDQ

Back to our regularly scheduled talk about unlimited minutes:

It looks like AT&T might be rolling out unlimited minutes for Grandfathered minutes-plan holders. For the time being, why don't we start collecting everyone's experiences so we can get a clear idea of how AT&T is doing this, so all of us AT&T customers might get the best deal on this.
It would help if you have the following information in your post:

1.) Did you receive a text message informing you of this change? Y/N (Picture optional)
2.) What Plan did you have before the change? (FamilyTalk #### (Unity), etc.)
3.) Are you currently in contract?

If you called up AT&T about this change, please note the following:
1.) Did you deal with CSR, Retentions, or Both? Did any of these acknowledge this change happening?
2.) Were you able to get them to lower you to a lower minute plan, then apply the unlimited?

Any experiences would be helpful!

- BeAuMaN

Unlimited now - NationWide 450 with rollover (FAN) and unlimited data - plan was updated even before text message received. Under contract currently.

No Change - NationWide 450 with rollover (FAN) and unlimited data. Under contract currently.

Unlimited now - NationWide 450 with rollover and unlimited data - plan was updated even before text message received. Two years contract already served. Never had texting and still dont have it.

I'm certain. I already had that. Text states:
"AT&T Free Msg: As a thank you, you now have unlimited nationwide talk at no additional charge/mo. You don't have to do a thing. You can keep this benefit as long as you stay on your FamilyTalk 700 plan. View your account anything at att.com/myatt"

And when I log in to the website, I see unlimited for talk (new), data (already had this) and text (already had this)

FamilyTalk Nation 450 with Rollover is still what ive got....3 month AVG 166 mins on 2 lines so I'm not worried about THIS "benefit" -- I'm worried about them texting me that they decided my limited but unlimited data has been converted to something "better"...It also irritates me that it says I can have a max of 5 lines yet when I attempt to add a line the max it says I could ever add would be ONE more....so apparently my max is actually 3 lines..

I think 450 mins plan is limited to 3 phones only. You need to have 700 mins plan to go for 5 lines.

No one is switching legacy plans nowadays so why would they have that 5 line statement bolded on my 450 plan....just to piss me off?

Edit- I see that it shows a 3 phone limitation for the 550nation plan so I'm betting that they just "forgot" to change it on the 450 bc its not available anymore....

Mine shows unlimited now when I do that. Maybe give them a few days and see what happens?

I have the 550 plan with no text plan and the smallest data package on two phone. Would be nice to get this since we're usually right near 550 a month. It's not possible to change from 550 to 700 since these are such old plans, right?
