It does say that the keyboard is backlit.
As far as the screen, this is what the description says: "15.6 inch LED Backlit On-cell Touch Display with Truelife and FHD resolution (1920 x 1080)".

Agreed, but if you buy a dell with built in SSD it is going to cost you more. It was out of budget for me.

I bought a regular Dell and installed the SSD myself. It is a bit of hassle to take apart a brand new PC, but costs less.

it's cheaper to add one yourself anyway

what others said - its really easy (and cheaper) to do it yourself. i've added a ssd to 3 prebuilt systems and in the last two was able to keep the original hdd for data.

8gb RAM is sufficient for the vast majority of the general population

8GB is enough for 90% of the population. Especially on a laptop! I would say its overkill honestly. I have 8GB in my desktop and consider myself a power user and still don't use all of it. I have only come close a few times. I can only see photo/video editing, CAD, or virtual machines using all of that up.

Does i7 = poor battery life? (And i3 = best and i5 = medium battery life?)
