For anyone questioning if a particular blu-ray will work in the US I suggest looking at blu-ray.com. That seems to be the go-to place for anything blu-ray (or digital content as well). When you search for a title, click on the flag next to the search bar and change it to the region you want to see. When you find your title, look under where it says "playback" and it will say "region free" or whatever.

Nice...how do we check Amazon? Do you just mean the Amazon version will mention it's region and that the zavvi version is the same product?

UPDATE: Check Amazon.uk [amazon.co.uk]

You can check Amazon but they're just as likely to be wrong as right. If Amazon UK specifically says Region Free then it's usually correct, a lot of the items listed Region B are actually OK.

Better to check (or at least double check) someplace like Bluray.com UK database or forum. About 2/3 of Disney's are Region Free including pretty much anything with 1st theatrical release after UP.

With Amazon UK, the boxes matched the ones for sale and said they were region free. Hopefully that was right.

"Lion King" and "Beauty and the Beast" are must buys. They are hands down the two best titles in the list and also not sold officially anywhere in US for the next couple of years at least.

I was going to say it's not true because I bought the Target edition with soundtrack many years ago and I also bought Beauty & the Beast. Then I searched Best Buy and Amazon and found nothing! Third party sellers are asking crazy amount of money for them. How stupid of Disney to discontinue those movies in U.S..

All the 3D items listed in the OP are region free.

The 2d version of all those specifically are also region free if you're buying things in the other links, but not all Disneys are Region Free so always check. .

Here is the best list I've found though it was a bit out of date (I did a quick update via Bluray database and a few other sources, but I think these are correct now). Pretty much the only thing I can think of released in the last 2 years that is Region Locked is Ratatouille 3D. The last standard release I can find that was locked was 2013 Jungle Books. The last New 1st time theatrical release that was locked was the 2D edition of Up though the 3D disc is region free making it an oddity. If anyone finds an error or missing item, let me know and I'll update it

Region B or B/C Only (Unplayable on normal US Region A players)
-Bolt 2D
-Dumbo
-Enchanted
-Jungle Book 1/2
-Meet the Robinsons
-The Nightmare Before Christmas 2D
-Pinocchio
-The Princess and the Frog
-Ratatouille 2D and 3D
-Sleeping Beauty
-Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
-Sorcerers Apprentice
-Tinker Bell
-Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure
-Up 2D
-Wall-e
-The Wild

Region Free (or at least Region A compatible and playable on US equipment -- sorry to any Region C members). As far as I'm aware no UK Disney has any 50HZ material on it nor PAL encoded SD Extras on the BD
-101 Dalmatians/101 Dalmatians II
-Aladdin
-Alice in Wonderland
-Aristocats
-Bambi 1+2
-Beauty and the Beast + BatB - Enchanted Christmas
-Big Hero 6
-Bolt 3d
-Brave
-Brother Bear 1/2
-A Bug's Life
-Cars 1/2
-Cars Toon - Mater's Tall Tales
-Chicken Little
-Cinderella 1/2/3
-A Christmas Carol
-Dinosaur
-Emperors New Groove 1/2
-Fantasia & Fantasia 2000
-Finding Nemo
-The Fox and the Hound 1+2
-Frozen
-Gnomeo and Juliet
-Hercules
-Hunchback of Notre Dame
-The Incredibles
-Into the Woods
-James and the Giant Peach
-Lady And the Tramp 1/2
-Lilo and Stitch
-The Lion King Trilogy
-Little Mermaid 1/2/3
-Lone Ranger
-Maleficent
-Mars Needs Moms
-Mary Poppins
-Monsters Inc.
-Monsters Univer
-Mulan 1/2
-Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
-The Nightmare Before Christmas (3D re-release)
-Oliver and company
-Oz Great and Powerful
-Peter Pan 1/2
-Pixar Short Films Collection Vol. 1/Vol. 2
-Planes 1/2
-Pocahontas
-Ponyo
-Rescuers 1/2
-Robin Hood
-Roger Rabbit
-Sword in the Stone
-Tangled
-Tarzan
-Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue
-Tomorrowland
-Toy Story 1,2 and 3
-UP 3D
-Winnie the Pooh
-Wreck It Ralph

Disney put them in the vault, so we have to wait until 2020+ until they start selling them again. Many of their classical animated movies are offered in cycles, which keeps the interest and the prices high.

I thought it was some contract they signed with VUDU to give them exclusive rights on 3D so basically nobody else cans ell 3D in U.S.. What surprises me is that they took the existing 3D off shelf as well. I guess it was a very good thing I was buying Disney 3D many years ago. I wish I knew before I placed the order. I only ordered 2 copies of BH6. I would have added Lion King and Beauty & the Beast if I saw those weren't available in U.S. anymore. For some reason shipping for 4 items is the same as for 2.

I really wish Ratatouille 3D was on the list. Yes, I know it's Region B, but I'm pretty sure I can get around that with my setup. Amazon UK also did not include that in its 2 for 17.99 (GBP) sale.
