BestBuyTVAd to submit your claim. Price Protection AD must include date of sale.

Link to Imgur of Best Buy ad: http://imgur.com/3iKq4vn

Direct number for Discover Price Protection: 800-638-8312

Good summary here:

People are currently buying the TV at the retail price of $429.99 and then making a claim with their credit card company. So far people have been able to confirm that Discover allows you to make 3 claims per item/SKU to get the difference refunded from the $149.99 price. Discover does not refund the tax that you paid on $429.99 but it's still a big savings by keeping you from having to camp out, etc.

To submit your claim you need to call Discover to submit a claim, they'll then give you a claim number that you can complete online with the following documents.:
Copy of your sales receipt
Copy of your Discover statement showing the charge has posted (people have had mixed results sending in the claim with a pending charge)

Copy of the ad with the lower price and date of the ad (You can find this in the wiki here).
Then you can sit back and wait for it to process. I've had 2 claims approved already via Discover this way.

I've seen people post that they've had success with Citi price rewind, but I can't independently confirm that. Other cards I'm not positive on, so I won't speculate.

Settings people have tried...please add if you find good settings

I calibrated mine with the THX app for Android (also available for IOS). My picture is still underwhelming. Because of the backlight, blacks are really grey. I turned the backlight way down (I think it's at 20), and everything else loses color tone significantly. It's almost amazing how different a video looks on my Nexus 6 compared to the TV.

I'd love to see your settings if you have a chance later.

Mine are currently as follows (again, after calibration with the THX app)

Backlight: 20
Contrast: 84
Brightness: -2
Color: 2
Tint: +11
Sharpness: +20

I turned off ColorMaster, Dynalight, Dynamic Contrast, and the Edge Enhanser. Color Temp is at medium.

Ok, after playing around with a calibration DVD and the menu settings, the picture improved greatly. Here is what I have mine set to if you want to see for yourself:
Picture mode: Standard
Backlight: 90
Contrast: 55
Brightness: 5
Tint:0
Sharpness: +5
In the Advanced Menu:
Color Temperature: Medium,
Gamma: 0
DynaLight: High
Dynamic Contrast: Low,
Edge Enhancer: On

Now you definitely need to play with the color settings...luckily the TV's 'ColorMaster' Menu/Base Color Adjustment provides tweaks for each individual color. I only messed around with the Red, Green, and Blue settings in here.
In order of Hue, Saturation, Brightness:
Red: +5, -14, -15
Green: -6, 0, 0
Blue (The color this TV seems to have the most issues with): -15, -15, -11

Note that each input's settings are independent of one another, so if you switch to a different HDMI, you will have to mess with the settings again under the menu.
Let me know what you think!

My blacks are okay. I don't expect it to match my Panny. The colors are pretty vivid but most sports channels (that I watch the most) tend to have very loud color sets. I haven't pulled out my calibration disc yet but using the naked eye, here are my settings.

Backlight 50
Contrast 100
Brightness 0
Color 5
Tint 0
Sharpness +20

I also turned off ColorMaster, Dynalight, Dynamic Contrast, Cinema Mode, and the Edge Enhanser. Static Gamma =0, Color Temp is at medium. Noise Reduction Mpeg NR and DNR both off.

I've been calibrating mine with a combination of subjective tweaks and the Disney WOW calibration BlueRay Disc.

I haven't played around with color too much, but here's what I have come up with so far. It results in a far better picture than the defaults.

Picture Menu:
Picture Mode: Standard
Backlight: 22 (Assuming a dark room. I bump this up to about 75 during the day in a room with lots of ambient light.)
Contrast: 85
Brightness: 0
Color: 2
Tint: +2
Sharpness: +10

Advanced Picture Setting sub menu:
ColorMaster: on
Base Color Adjustment: Red (Hue +6, Saturation -10, Brightness 0); Blue (Hue -3, Saturation 0, Brightness 0); Zeros for all others
Color temperature: Medium
Static Gamma: +3
DynaLight: Off
Dynamic Contrast: Off
Noise Reduction: Low
Edge Enhancer: Off

Picture Size Menu (Accessed by button on top right of remote)
Native

Using Movie mode instead of standard with the above settings results in a slightly warmer, less saturated, but slightly more detailed picture if that's preferred.

Color Temperature Medium
Static Gamma 3
DynaLight Off
Dynamic Contrast Off

Yeah that does suck only in stores. I don't got time for that. hehe I got 3 Toshiba 40" tv's with the $50 student slickdeal months back. I paid $150 for one and little more for the other two. I had a Sony Trinitron tube tv in my bedroom so it was a step up. lol

Yes!

I did this last year with a similar deal. I called Discover a few days ago to confirm there were no changes to this.

I did last year at Best Buy with the Toshiba $200 deal. For me, no stock until a few days before BF and then I got one. If you do this be sure to purchase before the sale. Then call in to claim the protection.

It's common knowledge that many TV models that are on "sale" on BF are specifically made/sold only for that day.

many of these TV's are just relabeled noname brands. Those $200 50" Panasonics last BF weren't manufactured by Panasonic at all.
