Have this card, and love it.

The real value I've seen is being able to transfer the Ultimate Rewards to several travel providers at 1-to-1:
Quote :
Transfer points to participating frequent travel programs at full 1:1 value - that means 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points equal 1,000 partner miles/points. Travel programs include British Airways Executive Club, Korean Air SKYPASS, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards®, United MileagePlus®, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Amtrak Guest Rewards®, Hyatt Gold Passport®, IHG® Rewards Club, Marriott Rewards® and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards®.

Well I was thinking about getting the Citi Thank you Premier card (as its 50k pts and was less $ to spend to get the pts), but now this has me to now 2nd guess that lol. Also the extra 5k pts for putting the 2nd card on the act rocks (not available on the thank you card).

I like the more pt options you get with the citi thank you card, but the transfers on the chase are real nice with the big local airlines.

Marriott just bought Starwood, so I'm hoping Ultimate to Marriott transfer in the future might be more valuable than it is today. SPG points stretch a long way and provide the most value.. hope that comes to Marriott.

Can you explain what you love about this card? I'm looking for a good travel card and can't decide on a card. I like this card because you can transfer your points 1:1 to any of their partner but I can get their partner card directly and get 2-3trimes more point (IE Marriott card gives you 5%? back when you book your hotel with them, so instead of getting 1.5points/dollar I can get 5 points/dollar). As for your point being worth more when you book through them I can get the same if not cheaper booking via Travelocity. Some of these numbers might be dated (last time I checked was almost a year ago). So can anyone tell me how this card is worth the $95 annual fee?

How long do we expect this deal to stick around? Kind of need to spend on another card first.

You get double the points for travel/dinning expenses. So for example, $100 meal = 200 points = 200 miles with an airline partner such as United.

It almost makes carrying an airline credit card not needed, since the airline card will give you 2x the purchase when you book a flight with them using their branded CC. This way you can buy an airline ticket with American Airlines, Southwest, Delta, United, and all of those purchase amounts would give you double the points.

2x points for parking, taxi, buses, train tickets.

Also, no foreign transaction fee, and PRIMARY rental coverage.

no! you have to look at points redemption as a dollar amount. Redeeming cash back gets you 1 cent per point (1%). the real value comes when you transfer to airline partners for award travel. for example: transfer 80,000 points to United and Book a saver award on a Star Alliance pet we flight to Asia. The flight of you bought it might cost $1,200 - in that case you are getting 1.5 cents per UR point which is 50% higher in value than regular cash back
