I see this as an option from Costco now and was wondering if anybody has experience with it? This is available in Bay Area (South bay stores)

I did not know KS also has Cognac ...

Wow nice price. Issaquah (WA state) Costco has the 750ml bottle for $59.99 + taxes = $75.12.
I was wondering about it too. Any input or guesses at to what's actually in the bottle?

It seems to be peyrat, which seems to be a very respectable brand for Cognac. I never tried it earlier, will report back once I open it and try.

I had Costco check their files, and they couldn't tell me anything. I've been drinking Cognac for 60 years, and couldn't find a clue on the bottle. I've been told they'll take it back if I find it a rotten blend, but I refuse to try it without some idea of who the maker is.

Well, the bottle says it is bottled by Peyrat (same address as Peyrat: http://www.cognacpeyrat.com/index...11&lang=en). You may want to read the side of the bottle which has this information.

I grabbed a bottle and tried it once, definitely worth the money. I have tried other XOs and this one is something you can only get for $100+ if branded differently.

Hopefully you will be able to open and appreciate it Smilie

I bought a bottle on impulse, and for comparison poured myself a bit of Courvoisier XO. If you know how a little spring water opens up a whiskey (no, I would never add water to brandy!) the Courvoisier reminds me of a whiskey that has some spring water added to it, while the Kirkland XO (presumably Peyrat) is darker, more brooding, the flavours are there but not quite as accessible. To my taste, the best cognac I've tried is Landy... the VSOP has the most honey-flavoured notes. I also have a Landy "Happy Dog" bottle XO. No question the Kirkland Signature is worth at least the $48.50 I paid for it, but I don't know if it is comparable to a $100 bottle of XO cognac. I'm no expert, but this Is my opinion FWIW, YMMV.

I just purchased it, and am trying it now......absolutely wonderful. Smooth. Very flavorful. Does not cut the throat or burn the nostrils like some others. Immediate mellow buzz. That kinda I want to light the fire place and snuggle buzz. I'm loving it. I've had a lot of high-end cognacs in my day, and some fine champagnes as well, and this is equally as good. No matter the brand name, or the amount of money spent, nothing compares to actually finding something wonderful. This is that. And if you live in the DC/Metropolitan area, I stand behind it so much I'll even share a swig with you. I was thinking I'd try it before the Holidays, and if good, maybe pass out a few bottles during Christmas. But you know how that goes......no one knows anything about some off-brand Kirkland Cognac. Thus, I'll just keep some in the house, and surprise my guests. Well worth the money!

Just bought a bottle a couple of days ago and it is excellent. Talked with the manager of the liquor dept in our local store (Christiana, DE.) and he told me that it's comparable it vintages selling in the $140 range. After trying it last night, I agree. The cost was under $50 and according to the label is aged for '12 to 20 yrs'. Seems they started the hunt quite a while ago. I also bought another new product they now offer - Kirkland Blended Canadian Whiskey.

My wife and I started drinking Courvosier VSOP and graduated to the $100.00 XO from Costco. We discovered the Pierre Ferrand Reserve for $70.00 and really enjoyed the deeper carmel and honey flavors. When our local Costco started carrying the Kirkland XO for under $50.00 we decided to give it a try. I actually just did a blind taste test with my wife and she preferred the Kirkland XO over the Pierre Ferrand. It's smoother and doesn't burn the nostrils. It may lack some of the flavor of the PF on the palette, but the drinkability and price point might make up for it. Cheers!

It's produced by PEYRAT. My friend put it into freezer for 20 minutes then serve. The taste is pretty good, a bit softer than Hennessey or Remy. Bouquet is not strong in small "wine" glasses but will use Riedel XO glasses to try again tonight (just brought one yesterday). At this price, I think it's a deal.

Where did you buy it (state, city)? There is none at my Delaware store. They sold the last bottle in 2015. Frown

Oxnard California. I had it. It wasn't as good as the remy xo, but it was still quite good and drank like a $100 cognac. Smooth, no burn.
