Being involved in IT for decades, not sure how well magnets would work on a mobile device without harming any storage.

Has that been resolved over the years?

Interesting point, never thought of that. These have been round for a while, so I doubt it's a concern - especially since the storage is not loose, no?

I think magnetic storage on mobile devices went out of style about 10 years ago.
It's all solid state flash storage these days.

Being in IT you must know Apple started using magnetics to hibernate and wake their device, with this phone holder it works the same as the ones you pin onto your vents. Basically there's a small magnetic device you paste on the back of your phone or just place it between your phone and it's case. Stick it to the base and wha la' It works pretty well until you run into rough roads or pot holes in NYC.

Some versions have a sticky magnetic plate you can affix right onto your phone or you can just slide it in between your case and the phone. The base will just magnetize and hold the phone. For normal driving, it holds pretty well, though I've never used this version before.

IT is more than just Apple products, but that is some good info to know, thanks for sharing. I ordered one for my Note 3.

No reviews. Does anyone have any experience with this particular brand?

I've been using the Mountek Snap(magnet mount) for a few years with no side affects to phone performance.

I don't have this particular brand, but do have experience with these magnetic phone holders, and they're great!

The magnetic part is on the phone holder itself. They come with metal plates with adhesive on them that you attach your phone or case.

The only downfall is if the magnet loses its strengh quickly. I've found the Scosche MagicMount ones to be the best. I use them with a Note 4 and a Note 5, with no issues. My phone's have cases on them too.

Good deal to try!
