So what do people think? I thought it was a good movie, but not great. I actually like the final Mockingjay more. It was definitely a good Star Wars movie unlike the crappy 3. It's like a 70's movie made in 2015.
Did Chewy get special credit at the end? I don't remember seeing it. All the main characters got special billing in the ending credits. Peter Mayhew should have since Chewy was on screen way more than Anthony Daniels(C3PO) who did get special billing.

everyone has a theory on who rey is (luke's daughter but who did he sleep with?)
what if.....
rey and ren are twins like luke and leila?
rey....ren.....get it??
it's not that far fetched since everything about this movie closely resembles the past movies.
something to ponder.
2. Kylo Ren is not his given name, it's Ben Solo. So the twins would be Ben and Rey... not quite as much of a clue, eh?
3. She is Luke's daughter. There are dozens of reasons I could give you as to why, but answer me this...
*IF* Rey is not Luke's daughter, why does 'The Skywalker Theme' (music) begin the moment Rey utters "The Force" during her fight with Ben?

Cons
• No new unique spaceships.
• The Empire are Space Nazi's now. So if you have a Stormtrooper figure displayed then you will be subliminally judged as a neo-Nazi by the mainstream.
• Sounded like they reused music; I don't know if they made any original scores for this.
• British accent Rey - everytime she talked I just asked myself, "So does Earth actually exist in this universe?" Completely distracting for Star Wars.
• Rey didn't need any training to use her force powers.
• Real-life props were mostly static.
• New Stormtrooper helmets, duck bill helmets, are something I would of expected from Space Balls; it's a parody of an iconic design.
• Harrison Ford was the only good actor.
• Vader 2.0 has a voice modulator only to make it crystal clear that Disney wants their Vader 2.0 even though Vader needed his voicebox from surviving a lava pit. And they already destroyed the mystery by showing Kylo Ren's face, which is uglier than Vader's lava-deformed face. And this Sith was struggling against a chubby ex-Stormtrooper (Finn) in the lightsaber fight.
• Yoda 2.0 (what was its name again?) is an orange alien that is insightful because she wears big glasses.
• 15 second scene of the chrome Stormtrooper with a cape even though it was hyped up pre-release.
• 15 second scene of Luke even though he was hyped up pre-release.
• Giant obvious super villain hologram giving orders. Emperor 2.0.
• BB-8 has a secret message like R2D2 in ANH.
• R2D2 is depressed (again, something that you would see in Space Balls).
Pros
• Lightsaber fights were grounded. No grasshopper jump fights from the prequels.
• Weaponized sun is clever, better than building a second Death Star from Episode VI.
This isn't an edgy, "I hate popular things" post - I actually love Avatar. The Force Awakens was merely an excuse for merchandising like Disney's Marvel's movies. Exactly why I waited so long to watch it.
