Costco - USDA Prime Top Loin Whole (NY Strip) - $25 off per package YMMV, B&M

I just got back from Costco in St. Charles, IL where they had a really good deal on USDA Prime Top Loin (NY Strips uncut). I picked up one for $96...after the $25 off it came out to $71 for 11.4 lbs. That is $6.30/lb for USDA prime!! Note that the best price per pound would be with the smallest package you can find. But you are on Slickdeals and I probably don't need to tell you that...

The only advertisement was sheet of paper above the meat that said $25 off per package. The deal also said Dec. 18-20th, I believe. Maybe through the 21st... But I need to verify.

Not sure if it is everywhere, so YMMV.

For those wondering how to trim a top loin... there are plenty of videos on youtube. Here's one that started with the tenderloin attached which he proceeded to cut down to NY Strips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzAHq0jkWik
Here's another with a good trick to getting uniformity in your thicknesses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRUg6857kGc

Costco is consist good quality meat. Never had a bad vacuum pack from there. No BS like "Steersmen's Angus Pride" that's really USDA Select. You get straight USDA grading. I will check it out tomorrow.

I plan on just cutting steaks out of it... Couldn't pass up the deal. I may go back to get another and dry age it. Debating with myself right now. I might buy all my steak for 2016, laugh out loud

I'd suggest going right when they open. The smallest packages are usually the first to go.

Yep... And they really varied in price. Some were $120 before the $25 off. But even if you scored that it would still be 6.75/lb. Still slick... Just not as slick

At my local Costco they had USDA Prime Whole Bone in Beef Rib (Prime Rib) for $8.99 per pound. Seemed like a pretty good deal. This was priced at only .30 cents per pound more than The USDA Choice. The meat department butcher said he thought is was likely mispriced as he has never seen it priced that low.....I grabbed two but will have to go and see if that $25 off is still in effect tomorrow

And I'm trying to convince the wife to let me spend $150 on NY Strip. She'd make me sleep on the couch for spending $300+ on steak, lol.

Was that from today? Maybe they priced to sell on exp?
