I bought my youngest daughter a Seiki for her bedroom 3 years ago as a BF special and did not expect to be impressed with it, but it has turned out to be a darn good tv, especially for the price. It's only like a 27 inch, I believe, but the picture is actually great and we've had no issues with it. Speakers weren't the best but she hooked up her stereo to it so it was no issue. I don't know what they're like in the large sizes or 4k, as this is my only experience with the brand, but we don't have any complaints with it.

hopefully they can properly demo this for you. Go to a store armed with your favorite BluRay, pop it in and see how it looks. $800 is still $800 to gamble on a no-name brand like Seiki. Ask to see the remote for the TV. change picture settings as you see fit. Brightness and color are probably jacked anyways.

hopefully someone who does end up picking on up can put their vote in one way or another

I might swing by after work and check it out. I have been wanting a 65in 4k, but my price point was $800. I can wait if this one doesn't do it for me. I spent 2k on my tv 6 years ago and it is still going... But wouldn't mind an upgrade Smilie

Kinda of in the same boat.

Love my 60" plasma.
Wish this was 70"...not sure just going to 65" from 60" is worth it.

I know going from 55" to 65" was worth it for me.

Find a BB with a 65" and a 60" next to or above and below each other for a real world comparison of the sizes. I've been trying to decide if going from 65" to 60" would be acceptable, but after doing the wall test at BB, I think I'm going to stick with 65". The difference in viewing area from 60" to 65" is about a 4" L-shaped area added to one side and the top of the TV. To me it seems like a significant amount of screen to give away, and at this price, I might have to try this set out. Use Amex to extend the warranty and maybe tack on something from square trade too? Could be a bargain!

Yeah.. I am going from a Samsung TOC 52in. So a 65in would be great. I have a projector setup for a theater room setup in an a dedicated room(106in), that is still apples to oranges.

My tv is 6-7 years old and still looks great, but... has a huge bezel and probably weighs the same as this one. I think this would be a great upgrade, but only if the pictures stands up.

Well.. Plasma would maybe have a better black level, but use way more power Smilie I know with my 50in plasma I have in the bedroom, you can really feel the heat that baby can give off. I would be rotating Tvs around, sot eh 52in would go to the bedroom and the 50in plasma would go to my office Smilie

Can't speak for this model, but I've bought 2 Seiki tv's (48" and 58") and have no issues with them.

Ha beat me to it! Yeah since plasma is a legacy technology product now, I think the next thing will be 4k vs 1080p or OLED vs 4k.shake head
