and on eBay [ebay.com]

I didn't get the one for $50 on black friday because someone mentioned about how using AAs with the 650 is better than having the rechargeable battery making it sound internal.

Well, every since BF I've been trying to find a Harmony 650 for a good price with no luck. I got a refurb of eBay and it was all hosed up.

I have since learned the rechargeable batteries inside the 700 are just AAs! So you can go either way, normal batteries or rechargeable.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Can I be the first one to use your time machine so i can get on that BF deal?
guys trust me. don't buy this. I had two that crapped out on me within the first year. and they were handled with care. one would not charge after a while. the other just flat out stopped working. save your money.

This is a great price for the non LCD/crazyied up models. I bought 2 during BF. One was broken and they were out of stock so no option to replace. Contacted Logitech and they replaced with a Harmony One - awesome customer service! I will likely sell the One and replace with this, I have kids and the idea of having a remote with an LCD in those little hands just doesn't work lol...

Thanks OP.

I have this and it's pretty good. Sometimes the signal won't go through so the TV may be on but volume doesn't work unless I Change volume under Devices>Amplifier.

Ok for me but guests are lost! also doesn't work for Fire Stick or HDMI switchers

Fire stick/TV is BT, but aren't most HDMI switchers IR capable?

Don't buy it. Best Buy had it for 50 dollars on Black Friday up until the first week of January. I bought it on Black Friday. Have been using it since then, great remote. It is not simple to use but it works very well. Sometimes I have to replug it back in to the computer to fix some problems.

I setup my info button to turn on amp, in such cases. Just to give you an idea.

I've had one for at least 4 or 5 years now and it works just fine. I do have slight issues with charging. I plug it in and shows charging, come back later and says "unable to charge". I've found the trick is, before charging, open the battery compartment, make sure the batteries are firm in place and then charge. Just have to remember to do so every time before connecting it to the charging cable.

It would not be advisable to use disposable AAs with this unit for 2 reasons. It is designed specifically for rechargeable which are a different voltage. This is not a big deal but the big problem is that this thing uses batteries quickly. With regular use you would be buying new batteries for this every 2 weeks to a month. That is why they include rechargables ( very good ones) and a cord to charge the unit. Good luck. I really like this unit.

This is just a configuration issue, run though the wizard again and make sure you select the correct devices. It should ask you what device you use to control the volume.
