I bought this set around Thanksgiving. The bar was able to BARELY fit into my 2010 Mazda 6. I had to fit it from the shotgun seat diagonally to the back left seat, and needed to tilt it up at an angle to make it fit(but it did).

The weight set is solid and I'm glad I bought it. My only complaint would be that the ends of each bar have small ridges across them instead of being smooth. Putting weights on and taking them off the bar makes a lot more noise than it needs to because of the plates dragging across those small ridges.

check to see if you have a $15 off $150 or 10% coupon in your deal center. Brings the price down to $175 or $171 with these coupons. Also r e t ailmenot has a $15 coupon but when i tried it doesnt seem to work but worth a shot there

I was able to get the additional $15 off from your second suggestion. Looks like a really good deal...comparable to BF prices for similar sets. In for one. TU bounce

Don't forget a 7' bar is tough to fit into a standard car. And they are heavy enough to do damage.

This was my very first Olympic Barbell set. Strongly recommended (pun intended).

this is really really cheap, but honestly if i'm building a proper home gym with barbells and weights, i'd rather go with a standard barbell that's 45lb or 20kg, which will last forever
Not sure what you mean, as this bar weighs 45 lbs...

if you lean a front passenger seat back and put the back seats down, a lot of cars will fit 8' long objects...have moved many a kitchen countertop this way :-)

Is this a good set for a beginner to weight lifting and will it last me a long time?

this one is 45 lbs and 7ft. which is standard size and weight. exactly the same as every gym with free weights
