This is different from your normal whey protein. Casein is a much slower digesting protein, best taken at night to help your muscles while you sleep. It has a higher price point than whey since most people use a lot less casein.

This is a good price since the flavor selection includes chocolate. Most of the time it goes on sale its either vanilla or an obscure flavor that they weren't able to sell.

...actually casein is way better for you when combined with your whey post workout..unless you are eating protein every 3 hours then it is really of no use at night..

Just use it when you need a slow digesting protein. Both statements above are true. It works great when combined with Whey but it is also used a lot before bed as on average a person burns between 0.4 and 0.5 calories per pound, per hour. The slow release of Casein will help for this, unless you are a person who eats in your sleep i guess lol

Oh and as far as pricing for comparison, i use Bodybuilding.com a lot for my supplements and for the 4lb its $54+ship so i'd say this is a good deal.

Both whey and casein amino acids reach the bloodstream at equal times but more of whey's AA are oxidized. Whereas whey tends to promote protein synthesis, casein has a greater effect in inhibiting muscle protein breakdown.
