HOT DEAL! American Airlines brings back free snacks in economy class!

Absolutely thrilling news!

American Airlines has not offered economy class passengers free snacks since 2003. In February 2016, American will start offering Biscoff cookies or pretzels to passengers flying between New York and San Francisco or Los Angeles. By April, those snacks will expand to all other domestic routes.

The best part is, their vice president of global marketing is actually excited by this! He said:

"We know that we have customers who select our airline based on price and we're really excited to offer them a product that is superior to choosing an ultra-low cost carrier."

How incredibly exciting that we will get free snacks! LMAO

Those jerks would not give me an open exit row seat as a courtesy for a local leg after 17+ hours of flying on a AA ticket code share with Etihad. After paying over 1700 for the whole round trip, they still wanted their $29 extra.

They gave those for free to standby people but not an international fare passenger.

They are not required to do so but I asked nicely and they asked me to check back later at boarding time and then said I need to pay. It was only a an hour and fifteen minutes flight but would have appreciated if the gate people in JFK were a notch nicer. Smilie

I'll admit that it's a nice gesture, but on TCON's and Hawaii routes, they should really be including a snack box or something. I got a hot-pockets like thing as a snack on my Swiss flight a few years back. Something like that is perfect.
