Editor's Notes & Price Research

Written by brisar

This is a great deal considering the Processor starts at around $250 (at most reputable stores) and the Motherboard runs about $120 (at most reputable stores).. which would come out to around $370 if these 2 items were purchased separately. - brisar

Nice deal, but make sure the expansion slots will give you what you need. There is only one x16 and one shared x4 slot, so not good for dual graphics cards or graphics + x8 cards (Intel 750, raid card, etc). If you use a pcie m.2 drive, you also lose the x4 slot.

add in 8GB RAM an SSD
and a R9 390 http://www.amazon.com/MSI-R9-390-...B00ZGF0UAE
because DX12 will benefit AMD cards alot.
Power Supply and
CPU cooler

and your talkin high end gaming at The Sub $800 level

of course this takes for granted you have a method to Install Windows and a PC Case lying around.

r9 390 or zotac gtx 970, being the 970 is about $50 cheaper thru jet.com

Yeah I don't really want this board... but I think I'll just flip the board and keep the 6600k....hard to argue with that price when it includes a mb that sells for over $100 everywhere I looked.

welp, purchased it for no reason besides the fact that everyone says this is a great deal and well worth the price.

anyone with me? haha

also, just to ask, I haven't kept up with computers in quite awhile (last comp I built was 6 years ago), How is the motherboard? It seems to me people don't like it that much. If that's the case, is it better to sell the motherboard and get a different one? If so, any suggestions? Thanks !
