With so many questions in this thread, I decided to throw together an informal FAQ of sorts during my lunch break.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), by TofuVic

Question: Is the coupon code valid on all deals?
Answer: The coupon code is somewhat restrictive in that it only works for Local Deals.

Question: Is the code only valid for new customers?
Answer: Yes, it is only valid for new customers.

Question: Is there a minimum purchase requirement?
Answer:No, there isn't. If you place an order of under $20, the order will be free. However, you will still need to enter a credit card number and billing information for a zero balance order.

Question: When I apply the coupon code, I receive the error message of "Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules."
Answer: That's not even a question and your sentence is lacking a question mark. Please try again.

Question: When I apply the coupon code, I receive the error message of "Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules." What do I do, jerk?
Answer: That's better. Groupon can be a jerk sometimes, like me. In this case, make sure you have clicked the link in the first post of this thread. Simply going to Groupon.com will not activate this coupon code.

Question: When does this deal start? When does it end?
Answer: Technically, that's two questions even though you led with the non-pluralized "Question," but I'll forgive you. The deal started during the morning of Tuesday, 02/09/2016, and it does not seem to have an official end date. However, it is the opinion of this writer that the deal will likely will not last through the day.

Question: Can I use the coupon code multiple times?
Answer: The coupon code is valid only once per account.

Question: I see that some members have placed multiple orders or used this code multiple times. How can I do that?
Answer: Officially, Groupon does not want you to place multiple orders using this code. What members may be doing is creating multiple Groupon accounts, which is likely frowned upon by Groupon. I am not an expert in legal matters and cannot say if this is fraudulent in one way or another.

Question: I read your previous question and I want to use this code multiple times anyway. What should I do?
Answer: You will need multiple email addresses, or use a trick similar to having multiple email addresses; I recommend either Yahoo! Mail disposable email addresses or a domain catch-all email account if you have such access (the Gmail dot trick [makeuseof.com] may not work for Groupon). Also, you will need to use more than one credit card number; use different credit card numbers if you have access to them, or use virtual credit card numbers (Citi [citi.com] and Bank of America [bankofamerica.com] have such features); to be safe, set the virtual credit card to have a low amount. Do note that for Groupon orders, the only fields that truly matters are the credit card information and the zip code, which must match the credit card information. In other words, Groupon does not seem to check for names and addresses (other than the zip code). Each time you create a new Groupon account, use a different browser or use private browsing, such as Google Chrome's Incognito mode. If you have access to a VPN, that may also be helpful.

Question: If I use the code multiple times, can Groupon invalidate the vouchers?
Answer: Most definitely. As stated, this promotion is intended to be used only once per customer.

Question: Can I check out with more than one deal at the same time?
Answer: You cannot. Also, note that if you have multiple vouchers at checkout, the $20 code will only apply to one of the vouchers, which means that you'll have to pay full price for any remaining vouchers.

Question: Should I refer myself using one Groupon account to open a new account to maximize my savings?
Answer: This writer does not recommend that because Groupon is against self-referrals, and it is likely that Groupon has mechanisms in place to catch such activities.

Question: Will Groupon refund me $20 if I had placed an order before this coupon was active?
Answer: Unfortunately, Groupon will not. However, if you have yet to use the Groupon voucher and the purchase was within the last 3 days, you may want to check out their return policy (they came up with the fancy term of Groupon Promise, but it's essentially a return policy).

Question: What is Groupon?
Answer: Huh, it seems like that would be the first question you should have asked. In any case, Groupon is a deal-of-the-day website that features discounted gift certificates usable at local or national companies. For more information about Groupon, please check out the official About Groupon page, the official Groupon FAQ page, or the possibly less biased Groupon Wikipedia article.

Question: Frequently asked questions? By whom?
Answer: Okay, I'm guilty of making up this entire FAQ list. However, I did read through previous Slickdeals threads related to Groupon coupons., as well as the postings in this thread, to see what members have been asking so I can tackle potential issues. My strangeness is to your gain.

The original post has been updated to state that it only works on local deals.

That said, I tried it on several local deals using a new account, but received the error message of, "Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules." (Note: I do not intend to use the code and am only doing this for testing purposes.)

This doesn't seem like a targeted coupon, other than that non-new accounts cannot use it.
