Good deal...

I was going to recommend the Gemini HSR-1000 (a rebadged Takstar Pro 80) but they're sold out most places and the prices are climbing! I paid $44.50 last year and now they're up to Takstar prices at around $89.

They're supposed to be better than the Sony, but I wouldn't think $30 better.

Might bite on this deal. I recently bought a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M40x's, but absolutely HATE the pivoting/folding ear cups. They drive me crazy.

Yeah even at 79 I was about to bite, my first pair I paid $99 I think it was but that was way before I knew about slickdeals lol

I've been using the same pair since 2006 and other than the ear pad foam peeling off still work great

I was gonna buy these 4 years ago ironically enough at guitar center but ended up getting ath-m50's. I'm still sure these would be fantastic studio headphones for anyone, and this price is good.

The ear pads peeling and coming off seem to be a common complaint with these. That's the reason I'm looking for new cans to begin with. I've been having these issues with my ancient Berhinger HPS5000 headphones (which sound really good, imo) the last couple of years. The pads keep coming off and now there is no pleather left on them (even came off the headband) and I still have the black flakes in my ears and hair, on the carpet, the bed, etc.. to prove it! They still sound sweet for a $29.00, 12 -year old set of headphones.. but can't take it anymore!

Currently using these after my Mdr V6's broke. These are fantastic at $100. Great cans with very crisp responsive sound.

i bought the ATH-M50x for $100 , previous BF . But always wondered how these sound as I have seen many youtube videos where the artist is mostly wearing this headphones .
From an amateur point of view (not for studio) , is this better to listen compared to M50x.

Probably the best headphones you can buy for under a hundred bucks... maybe even twice that. I have two pair, both purchased for $80-ish and love 'em. At $60 it's a no-brainer.

I have both and don't really have a huge preference, though my music snob pals all swear by the Sonys. At $60, really, you won't be disappointed.

I just want to say as a man with a big head and glasses, these are very comfortable headphones. They aren't the most isolating closed headphones I've ever used, but I would recommend them for sure.
