Buying a vehicle from Carvana

Anyone used them before? If so I might be interested in getting a referral for the $500 savings.

http://www.carvana.com/

I'm looking for a AWD SUV for the girlfriend and after doing a little research on them my interest has been piqued.

Their prices seem very fair. You can also get another $500 off with a referral and the person giving it get's $100.

Free delivery if you're within range (100 mile of various cities) or up to $200 credit for airfare.

You get 7 days to return the vehicle with no questions asked and a 100 day/4,189 mile "Worry Free Guarantee".

All vehicles are accident free and they show you pics of any nicks, dings, scratches.... the vehicle might have.

I wasn't going to mention this because it seems to be more of gimmick kind of thing but they also have a car vending machine that you can pick up your car from.

Thanks.

Thanks for the response.

Do you mind my asking what was wrong with the car you bought that required repairs? Was just wondering if it was mechanical ,visual....?

Do you know if there is a "expiration" date for the referral code after it is sent and what info do you need for the referral?

Like I said, I'm just looking at suv's right now at various places and not set on using Carvana but I wouldn't mind having the referral code just in case a good deal pops up.

Thanks again.

Huh???? Are you saying that they are going to list their vehicles on their site at a certain price and then when you go to buy it using the $500 referral code that they are going to raise the price by $500?

I don't think that is going to happen, or really hope it doesn't since that would be super shady.

They have very good prices on many of their vehicles but I'm sure that they adjust the pricing to account for the $500 referral discount prior to putting them on their site. Still though $500 off is $500 off.

If you read the fine print, does it say you need to advise them of the $500 before you start the negotiating? Most of those type discounts do. The price you see is a wishful thinking price and not typically what anyone pays. Most used cars have 100% or more of profit in them so there is a LOT of wiggle room. Unless you are talking about Carmax where all the prices are set, you will make a better deal if you are shrewd, not falling for some bullshit $500 referral bonus that comes out of what they would discount the car anyway.

Try negotiating and getting your best price, then spring the $500 referral bonus. I suspect they will not pay it at that point.

I'm guessing you are not familiar with how Carvana works.

It is a online car buying site where they list their vehicles at very reasonable prices and as far as I know there is no negotiating that can be done. So yes the $500 off is more than some "bullshit $500 referral bonus" if someone is going to make a purchase from them.
