From wikipedia [wikipedia.org]:
"HGST, Inc. (formerly Hitachi Global Storage Technologies) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Digital that sells hard disk drives, solid-state drives, and external storage products and services."

So there is a relation between the three brands... Smilie

Why are these so cheap? Aren't deals on these normally around $130-$140?

I use these in my NAS and it runs great as 5x4TB RAID6. I have had it set up for a couple of years so I suppose the 64MB 7200's might be more expensive.

for some reason Frys would always give me an invalid promo code when I'm trying to purchase items that require a promo code.

not quite the Deskstar NAS is 7200RPM and has a vibration-sensing feature for NAS use, but the Coolspin is rated for 24/7
