If you want to discuss the pros/cons of shopping at Wal-Mart do that here.

Let's try to stay focused on any great deals to be had when you combine a coupon with a regular-priced item. YYMV on the actual prices at Wal-Mart but they should be fairly close. If your store has an item with a very different regular price, please put it in the Wiki so we can compare the price variations to see if this is even worth it. We may as well not even post clearanced items because that is definitley going to be widely different per store.

There is no weekly ad to work with so we're going to have to add things from what we see when we are there. So please keep an eye out when you're at Wal-Mart next for any hot deals.

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:
* Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

***YMMV on internet coupons. Some stores won't take them at all, some only take 1 per transaction and others take as many as you have. If you run into any trouble you can try showing them a copy of their coupon policy, but there is still no guarantee they will take internet coupons. Click on "Wal-Mart Coupon Policy" above to see it on the actual Wal-Mart website.

Guide to Wal-Mart
  • Use the SCO (Self-Checkout) to avoid coupon scrutiny
  • You cannot get an overage at the SCO's
  • Go to a regular cashier if you plan on having overage
  • Go to a regular cashier if you have a bottle cap
  • You can only use $20 worth of coupons at SCO
  • You can use up to $40 worth of coupons at a regular check out (Without Manager Approval) - (You can use as many as you want with approval)
  • If your coupon doesn't register as being inserted in the coupon slot at the SCO then blow in the slot
  • Some SCO's are coded to only accept 1 of each coupon and will need cashier approval.
  • Some SCo's are coded to need cashier approval for coupons with a $3 or higher value.
Wal-Mart Price Guarantee
If an item rings up for more than the price on the shelf WalMart policy is to give you $3.00 off the price the item scans for. If the item is less than $3.00 you get it for FREE. One item per $3.00 discount. YMMV as some stores will just give you the price difference instead of $3.00 off
NO MORE PRICE GUARANTEE AS OF JUNE 2008

Our Ad Match Guarantee

En Español [walmartstores.com]
We're committed to providing low prices every day. On everything. So if you find a lower advertised price on an identical product, tell us and we'll match it. Right at the register.

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*
  • Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
    • Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)
  • Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price.
  • Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad.
  • For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
*The following are guidelines and limitations:
  • We will match any local competitor's advertised price.
  • We do not require customers to have the ad with them to honor a competitor's ad.
  • Items purchased must be identical to the ad (size, quantity, brand, flavor, color, etc.)
We DO NOT match the price in the following types of competitor ads:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the ad price
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get [item B] for $C"
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get free product
    • example: "Buy both [items A & B] to get [item C] for free"
  • Items that require a purchase to get a competitors' gift card
    • example: "Buy [item A] to get a $B gift card
  • Buy one, get one free (BOGO) ads with no actual price given
  • Going out of business or closeout prices
  • Percentage off
    • example: "All mascara, 40% off"
  • Competitors' private label price promotions
We do not honor:
  • Ads when the actual price for items cannot be determined.
  • Internet pricing
  • Misprinted ad prices of other retailers
  • "Going out of business" sales or "close out" prices

It has come to our attention that an original intent of a manufacturer's coupon(s) has been compromised and it is being discussed on the slickdeals.net forums. Discussions of how to profit from a coupon mistake should not be discussed here. if you wish to discuss the coupon(s) mistake, please use another forum. Slickdeals.net does not condone discussions of how to perform, elude capture or profit from unethical and perhaps illegal activities. Any users caught creating multiple account(s) will be banned immediately, no exceptions.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned or discuss any coupon that is not used for it's intended purpose. This goes for ALL scanned - this is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about CWS, "37000" coupons, SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

  • Users who do ask or discuss any coupon that is not used for its intended purpose will be subject to warnings. This is because we do not want to punish those who do legit deals by being forced to close this thread down.
Moderator Reminders
  1. Do not directly post to Ebay Auctions.
  2. It's considered self promotion because we don't have a way to verify if you are the seller or not.
  3. Mod Alert any fighting! We'd rather catch it in the beginning, versus going back 5 pages to see what happened.
  4. Do not discuss or promote unethical and/or illegal activities with coupons or GCs (ie using expired coupons, using fake coupons, etc.).
  5. Click here for how expired coupons will be handled on here. (Credit goes to kel_be). In other words they will be handled the same way as they do for the Target Thread.
How do I let someone know they've posted a no-no?
  • If you feel it would be beneficial and helpful to the thread as a whole, go ahead and post an answer. But if you need to correct someone on an etiquette issue or on coupon use, try PM'ing them first. That avoids embarrassment and negative posts. The mod's are watching our thread closely--we want to keep things helpful and pleasant.
  • Please do not ask (even in a covert way) for any coupon that has been scanned in or is not used for it's intented purpose. This goes for ALL scanned (from a scanner) manufacturer coupons. This is what ALTERED means. NO POSTING about "37000 coupons", SPICY, or DECODING list of coupons.

it always amazes how this corporate issue can so easliy be broken one time... thought it was policy??? how does the sm have the ability to go against everything he knows is right "just this once" wishywashy at best~ IMHO
Just be lucky that you didn't have the rocket scientist I had a few weeks ago. He had a new twist to the 4 coupon limit. You can only use 1 identical coupon in a transaction but if you wanted to use 3 more similar coupons, that would be ok. So now it's not only the purchase/transaction debate, it's identical vs. like...Confused I was laughing too hard to argue with the guy but I did ask him if I needed 4 identical carts to put the stuff in or if they could just be similar...laugh out loud

I am beyond ticked off over those damn Coty peelies. NONE of the Coty items are coded for the coupon so it beeps like a *&%$#@#$%^. I had several that I tried to use this morning and got every excuse under the sun from, this is for individual items, to this is for a certain fragrance, to this is a store coupon and not a MQ. I swear I was at a store holding a convention for all the village idiots in the Walmart realm. How on earth are you all using these so that they don't beep and you don't have to deal with a damn clown convention? NONE of the Coty products are coded for this Q....NONE OF THEM!

When I used these it came up with the message asking if it was a food item. Cashier entered "no" or pushed a button of some kind.

Toy clearance was starting at my store this morning. Couldn't stick around for the markdown man to make his way around, but he said he was marking down a lot. Scored a La Dee Da doll for $8.50 and submitting the rebate found by the doll for $8. Friendly reminder to check there after getting your seasonal items.

Went really late around 11am for the heck of it. I found one lonely Gillette gift pack and fought hard to get it w/ a $5 disposable to be able to use the $10 mq....finally the manager in some obscure back room okays it (we can't a mq on the disposable right?..free is all good but checking if I could've gotten more O drool). Btw, can employees just read the entire q when they want to double check rather they read two words/look at the picture and shut us down. I had to point at the "disposable" word as they wanted to go get a cartridge for me to buy. That FEM guy said "oh yeah I got one last week w/ the coupon...but a disposable CARTRIDGE Facepalm.
Make sure to check the regular perfume aisle for the coty as they were stocked there rather then w/ the clearance stuff at my store. I also found a small Stetson gift set originally $5 so still great w/ the peelie.

Skip rant is you wish This woman behind me gets pissed and tells me to leave and stop holding up the register. I told her to could wait and I was no responsible for the cashier and and 3 FEM not knowing the policy. So while I wait for the Wizard of Oz to deliberate on my Gillette q, they void me out and check her out (no prob). The woman then tries to buy regular candy and says it's 50% off ...denied...then she has these expensive watercolor sets and demands the same. Denied. Really?! You are pissed at me being a sensible shopper but your trying to scam the store is cool Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
/rant

yeah you definitely have the 12/31/13 mq. Like others have mentioned, there are too versions. I found both 6/30/13 and 12/31/13 and gave the 6/30/13 first (which asks if it is a food item Facepalm but goes right through after they do some clickidy click) and then the 12/31/13 which has the horrible print journal message. Took convincing I could get overage but then she was happy to okay the beeping qs.
